Help Anyone!

I quit EQ about 2 years ago and unfortunately my wife tossed my discs. I do however remember my account info so I know I could reactivate, but do not want to pay for an all new account. After all the biggest reason I have for wanting to return is my Necro! I loved that guy! Well anyhow if anyone knows a way for me to get the software so that I may reactivate my account, I would greatly appreciate it.

saw original plus PoP for sale in a discount bin for $5 just today at Gamespot. Once you have basic you can download whatever expansion you want or is applicable to your account. Or you could try to find out how to download it from SoE, but I tried that once, it took a long time, lots of frustration, the $5 is probably the best way to go.

EQ does not have to be installed, so if you have a friend or anyone with EQ you can copy if from them. The only important thing is account information, which you already have, with the cd registration numbers, which stays on your account. You could also download it if you have a fast connection.

They usually have your old toons, heard of people getting them back years later, so good luck.

Even without discs you can install the game - follow the directions to download and run the patcher here: http://eqlive.station.sony.com/support/tech_support/ts_new_patcher.jsp

Keep in mind - even with a high speed connection you're going to be downloading files for possibly days!

This is a good time to point out that everyone who possibly should burn their EQ files to something (another hard drive, dvd, cd's, etc.). If your drive crashes it will save you a considerable number of four letter words that can give you very bad family faction. It will also save you countless downloading hours and much frustration with getting back all your bazaar prices, spell sets, hotkeys, and window layout. And after a major patch, reburn the latest files.

If you get a new computer, you just copy the files fully, bam, you are back in EQ. No installation necessary.

This has been a public service announcement. Had it been a real emergency you would be tearing out your hair, cussing, and downloading.
