I cant seem to log into EQ.

It keeps saying I need to re-run the patch server, but I have done that and checked the "complete file check" box and everything and still can't log in.

When we had this recent patch, I did run the game program, download the patch, but then never actually logged into the game fully after getting the patch. I was running on generator, and ended up I didn't get to play, stupid Wilma :-/

So I ran th patch, but then exited out, and now I have no patch to get, but can't play. Is there a way I can trigger the game to re-patch? I can get as far as th server select screen but cant get all the way into the game.

Just got my power back today, Wilma sucks ***!

Let me get this straight, hurricane heading towards you, generator power, still trying to play EQ.

Joujouka, damn, I have to give you a rate up just for that, one must have one's priorities in order. I can't help you but I do admire the EQ spirit!

Try a full file check. Then if you get the message just ignore it a few times and keep trying to log in. I got it on all accounts at least once after patching and that's all it took.

Actually this was a few days after the hurricaine had passed. I just got power back yesterday actually. (Day 8) I live in Broward County where the southern eyewall passed right through so we were ground zero, got no structural damage to house but everything else (trees, our gazebo, signs, light poles) got decimated. The top wind gust that was reported in post storm analysis (127mph) was at a small airstrip about a mile from my house. It was rockin' a steady 100mph+ here for about 3-4 hours straight. (I took picture with ny new camera phone :-) Maybe I will post them in the Asylum)

But I digress...

It sucks sitting in the dark day in day out and it's hard to read by flashlight. But our phone service still worked. One of the things to do if you live in Forida is to have a regular old non cordless phone that plugs straight into the wall because phone service usually stays pretty solid, but you can't use a cordless phone sans electricity. I was sure that phone service would work, because that almost never ever fails, but I was astounded that I had DSL service, since power was knocked out to 98 percent of my county. (98 percent!) Bellsouth must have some serious heavy duty generators and batteries.

Our neighbor left town and let us use a 5000 watt generator. So heck man.. the fridge only uses like 1500 watts I think. So I used one of the 4 outlets on that thing to plug in a 6 outlet strip (surge protector) with my pc, monitor, DSL modem, and my router into that, and voila!.. Internet servce, and hence.. friggen EQ! :-o

Of course it was spotty because of limited gas at times and other reasons, so I ended up downloading the patch, but then had to X out and didn't play at that time.

I will do the new patch (Nov 1) when I get home from work today and hopefully that should fix it.

Where there's a will there's a way. Woohoo!

Thx for the help, all.

You can also try deleted your EQGame.exe, and the DLL's for the game. Then just repatch, and hopefully it will work!

It's possible one or more of them became corrupted during the patching process.
