Morning everyone,

Logged in last night to take advantage of the good ole 30 double exp buff.

I had camped in Dulak Harbor and immediately formed a small group with a Pally and a Beastmaster. Pulls were slow. Pally wanted to be the puller and I really wasn't in that much of a hurry so I didn't mind. Then we added a rogue and she started pulling. No problem. I can easily handle double pulls. EXP bar was slowly moving along. Finally a Warrior and a Necro came by and joined.

The War Hero (Warrior) was a badasre and started pulling multiple mobs (3 or 4) and then asked for a heal. This all happened within 15 seconds of joining. I gave him a rune and that lasted a few seconds. Then he realized that he wasn't getting a heal and trained to the zone.

The next statement was something along the lines of "Why the $%^^$# didn't the cleric heal me?"

I memmed Gate spell, gated to POK, and logged. I was laughing the whole time...

Moral to this story: Make sure you know the capability and classes of your group before you get stupid.

I love eq!

Sometimes you wonder if tanks are all muscle and no brain.

Few months back a warrior joined our group and asked if we had a healer, my druid raised her hand (she heals quite nicely with her 3K+ heal and rarely has a death occur), and he kept asking if we could find a LFG healer, which also meant someone else would have to be booted as group was full.
I thought it was rather hillarious that a druid was not a healer according to this warriors standards, he prolly think we the local taxi service and there to look pretty.

P.S Sorry for unclear previous comment but after 23 hrs awake and not having English as a first language, that came out wrong.

Really copuldnt decipher either of these posts. What class was the OP? I assume chanter? Also why didnt the pally heal? Pallies can heal right?

If OP was a chanter and there was a pally im thinking mezz/slow/pallyheal FTW!

Yeah. I am an Enchanter.

I probably didn't handle the mass influx of mobs too well. The problem was the person playing the Pally was very slow to do anything. Many times he would take 15-20 seconds to start attacking a mob that was hitting on him. Therefore no heals were landing in time.

Warrior pulled about 4 different mobs and they were all on him. I made the mistake of trying to play "healer" by casting a rune on him. Runes have a long casting time and the Mobs beat through the rune to quick. Couldn't cast fast enough. In hindsite, I should have just concentrated on Mezzing and doing my job.

Just kinda funny how quickly things can get out of hand playing this game.

LoH must have been down and the pally had no mana becaus of stuns i'd bet. I suppose it would be smart to find out what you have in your group before running into the fray. I dunno.

I'm pretty gun shy when it comes to pick-up groups. Too many bad experiences. I'd honestly rather solo in most cases, but every now and then you fall in with a couple decent players and have a good time.

Heh, strolled over to OT the other day and promptly did a LFG. Got a tell from someone saying my lvl 33 wizzie could use some help - come to SF ramp.

Okies, no prob...head over to ramp. The "wizzie" is not a wizzie, but a chanter. No worries. We get a couple other folks to join and I start pulling. The others in group are asking for haste. The chanter responds - oh I don't have haste yet. Hrmmm.

Through the course of many mobs I realize the chanter never casts slow either. As a matter of fact, the only thing the chanter is doing is melee'ing and nuking occasionally. Never cast a breeze/clarity on anyone either.

Here's the kicker. He sends me a tell asking If I will kick out our cleric because he wasn't doing anything. Mind you the cleric was healing and nuking and doing fine by me. I assume the chanter just thought because he wasn't melee'ing he wasn't doing anything.

Tis then that I promptly left the group after sending tells to the other group members.

Chances are that person was new to the game so they just didn't have a head on their shoulders yet. I only get angry and leave if they are going to repeatedly get the whole group killed. Maybe that person just needs a bit of help it's not like this game is the easiest game on earth. now if it was in BoT HoH or other 60+ zones yeah i'd leave if the chanter wasn't slowing or buffing.

Yesterday a Sha wanted to do a Ldon, i was lfg so i said yeal ill join. We get a couple more peeps and head for BB. Once we got our mission we get in everything is going great and the sha says "oom". I thinkg whats going on don't you have canni by now. (oh it was a lvl 43 sha)So after a few mins the mt dies, we stop and the sha like well lets keep going. I asked if she had canni, no response. I since i was the next in line to tank i start pulling, well needless to say i died then the bard died and the sha ran to the entrance not to be killed. So i start to run back very frustrated now, not really wanting to go back. But the mt was ready to do this so for him i was heading back. Then i went LD. I felt bad cause i wanted to help but that sha didn't know what she was doing. But shouldn't a sha know how to use canni by lvl 43?

.... actually doing a pickup LDON is asking for trouble. The willingness to go makes everything that happens from then on your own fault man. Sorry

Well I guess I come from a different era of EQ. I expect folks to know what the heck their class does by lvl 30.

But looking at it now, its easy to see how there are so many clueless mid-lvl players considering how easy and fast it is to get to those levels.

... and they all live in LDON!

.. certainly not an unreasonable request. I think you will be fine if you avoid LDON.

Dulak's is the next Paludal Caverns?

People fresh out of their 20s, used to temp and easy xp in Paludal take this attitude to the next level in Gunthak and Dulak's Harbor.

Guess what? Time for Attitude Adjustment...Temp doesn't go as far, you have to use tactics (gee what's that?) and work as a team.

Obvious to most people for your group makeup: Have pally pull, chanter take care of the one or two adds, have warrior wait for mob and hold aggro when it arrives, Necro + Pally adding DPS. Pally could heal in this situation.

If I ever see a tank who feels the need to say 'heal me' something is wrong.

What's so funny, is that for the area, the composition is really pretty good. No levels were given, but on single pulls, there's no reason a pally couldn't play cleric in Dulak, especially if he already has ethereal cleansing. Warrior tanks, Rogue and Necro for DPS. Chanter for cc, slow, haste, pet dps. That has all the makings of an awesome group. In that situation, I'd tell the pally to forget that he's a hybrid, sit his but down, meditate, and play healer. If it wasn't for the dumbass warrior, that sounds like a great pickup group.

I feel your pain. It always frustrates me, when a group I'm in wipes in an area I can solo.

I have been soloing here (dulak) since level 52 and its a great zone.

Now I am 54 and the exp still rocks solo. Problem is that this zone has been so crowded lately. It's easier to solo here and the exp bar goes up much faster then with a full group that can't handle more then 1 mob at a time.

Hopefully I will be alone in the zone tonight but I won't hold my breath.

True, and I haven't looked at the pally spells in a while to see when the heals come into play, but I still would prefer a druid or cleric heal vs a pally one, as would anyone.

But yeah, as a Pally, if there is no healing available, then you shouldn't have a hard time accepting that you are half cleric, and let the warrior tank.

beast could've tossed a few heals as well. no levels are mentioned and i came up before the spell levels revamp so i'm not sure which heals would've been availble to the beast, but even with pre-slowing, or tossing our weak nukes, should've had plenty mana to spot heal.

No offense but you're a chanter. You rule the world of CC. You slow mobs to help the healer and tank. But a warrior pulling 3-4 mobs should not be a problem for you. You think 3-4 is a lot try 10 or 20.
