EQ I hate you but I can't leave you yet.Follow

I've been playing EQ for about 3 years and the highest player I have is a 43 warrior. Im a serious casual player, but right now for the past half a year my current character is a 25 DE SK so its hard to go where I want(yes ive only been playing him for half a year, most people would be lvl 60 by then) and he's currently stationed in lake of ill omen, see I dont have luclin expansion or the frog one so i cant go to PC or the other zones my lvl so I go to unrest or the lake, and no one is ever there so I'm always soloing.
I'm on the anoyoa ro server and i hardly ever see someone in the 10-35 lvl zones and its really pissing me off. So this christmas as soon as I get either WoW or EQ 2 (i told my parents to surprise me) i will leave EQ and hopefully not look back, EQ has pissed me off, but im so aqddicted i cant stay away. you guys got any suggestions?

buy the platinum edition get all the expansions with it (except the latest oow expansion). Start on one of the preferred servers Morden Rasp is a great one. I've seen plenty of people in the low range and not hard to find a group. Otherwise enjoy EQ2/WoW and don't look back.

Someone who plays the way you do will appreciate WoW or EQ2 much more than EQ1. Both are more solo friendly and progression is faster. I think you are going to have a very nice christmas.

I heard that WoW has Solo Dungeons. But I hate the graphics so no matter how good it is it will bother me. Eq2 is nice but I myself always find my self wanting to play EQ1 more, But in the 40's there seems to be low population.

Good Luck

Not just in looks I HATE what they did to the elves. It bothers me so much I do not think I could enjoy the game.
But I am a Odd person.
Avatar is from Cartoon The Hobit. Forget the guys name, he kills Smog at the end.

The platinum edition is 30 bucks. You could scrape together 30 bucks collecting cans man. You could make that mowing 3 lawns at 10 bucks a pop. You could get a job at McDonalds for a week, quit and be able to buy that and pay for a few months subscription.

No matter what your age, you should be able to earn 30 bucks in a couple days. Christmas is unpredictable, buying it yourself isnt)

I can't resist myself. It's too easy. It's almost automatic...

GFY!

But seriously, Morden Rasp has a very big low end population, and most of the 30-day-trial crowd has left, so it's somewhat normalized. I never have problems finding groups outside my guild with any of my characters, which range from level 19 to level 43.

First off I would get out of Lake of Ill Omen. It's one of the few zones in EQ that have a NEGATIVE XP modifier. Meaning you make LESS xp there than you would in a normal zone on the same level mob.

As far as hunting grounds, I can't help you much. I've never played that class and its been a very long time since I was that level.

I have also heard that WoW is a great game for super casual players.

Bard the Bowman...

From the Encyclopedia of Arda:
A descendant of Girion the Lord of Dale, Bard slew the dragon Smaug and refounded Dale under the Lonely Mountain.

First, transfer all of your characters to Druzzil Ro. Then, give me ALL of your items, and cash. then commit suicide by jumping off the bridge int ehDeep, and go away, because if you hate the game as much as you say, we dont need, or want you here. why are you bothering to post about it?

Can you highlight where he said he hated the game? My glasses are out of reach and I'm just not seeing it.

Oh wait, this must be it. aubsp you must be very thick skined to never get pissed off at EQ. Never getting upset about being LFG for the only 2 hours you can play this day. Never being upset becuase the quest mob just ate your turn in that took 2 weeks to camp, never being bothered that the login servers just seem to quit right before the raid. I'm envious to say the least.

Enough said there.

And excellent advice! Take it.

Back to the OP. Since your toons aren't that high of lvl you could start over on one of the new servers and find groups. I think this would solve your problem about being frustrated with the game. However, it's your dime so spend it as you see fit.
