This is just NUTS i love to group, BUT i group with 1 other player, MY REAL LIFE BOYFRIEND. Sometimes with others but not all that often. And to me a group with my bf is just like a solo thing. Im not saying i dont like to group cuz I as a Cleric cant just go to OoW and kill things cuz Id be dead.

But anyway Im just saying if you dont like the game dont play it. I love it if im soloing or in a group. it dont matter to me as long as no one dies and we are all haveing fun:P

Thanks and be safe all... I dont want to have to rezz you all MUHAHAHAHAHA

I would say u have a point in some way... But did u take the time to actually think about what ur saying? Or did this thought pop into your mind one day and that made u decide to come let it all out here?

If SoE / Verrant made everquest to be only these so called solo Epic quests, then what in the world is the point of an MMORPG? Isn't the creation of such a game there to be able to interact with other people venturing with them and working together?

Ok, I'll stop my rambling... Maybe u should stop urs too and think about what ur saying first.

You can have a multiplayer world and have quests which are soloable. Just because its multiplayer doesnt mean you cant scratch your nose without help from a cleric and chanter. This is one of the major selling points in WoW.

I admit I didnt even read most of the posts(I get tired of reading flames quickly) here but the general sound of the ones I did read were basically "omg you suck for wanting to do a quest alone". I really dont see why thats such a bad thing. Apparently SOE doesnt think its a bad thing either. My 1.5 warrior epic has a lot of steps where you just run around delivering stuff and has less emphasis on raids than the 1.0 epic.

Another thing is the world has changed. Since they altered group xp bonus the game has basically crushed most solo opportunities. LDoN and DoN rewards can not be even gotten without a minimum of 3 or 4 people. When the game was first out it was not like this really. There was a *lot* of soloing going on(in my opinion too much soloing). Most of these people have given up but I still am friends with a few guys who just prefer to solo. Yes, its a multi player world and they enjoy this multi player world, but they just like to do things on their own schedules. If their wife starts yelling at them they like to be able to just log off or lay FD for an hour and come back. The other day a guildmate of mine in our group gave a 20 minute warning that he was going to leave because he had to take his kid out to buy school supplies that evening. The response was "wtf??? How are we going to find a cleric in 20 min at this time of day??". Not everyone has large blocks of time to work together and coordinate 30 people to help them on a quest. They would rather work on quests where they can do things piecemeal, even if it would take them a long time to do.

What Im basically saying is, there needs to be room for both types of people in the game, and in quests. I think there is to a degree but what the OP was saying is there needs to be more aimed at a smaller group or even solo capable with rewards obviously scaled back and time taken to complete them extended. If someone can get 20 people to help him finish a quest in 1 hour, perhaps offer other quests that would give similar or lesser rewards if he spent 20 hours working on it alone. I pretty much speak this as someone who would have nothing to gain by "solo" quests as warrior. Reason being, as a warrior, "soloing" implies killing green mobs for faction barring some really nice gear.

I think many people fail to realize the importance of solo content. All I know is "grouping" isn't very easy for many players including myself. Big reason I don't play much anymore. I've listed some of my reasons why the grouping requirement is foolish.

1) Inconvenience to other players.
2) Inconvenience to the guild.
3) May have to schedule around your plans, or others.
4) Group invitees may not be very good at the game.
5) Some classes are more welcome than others.

Bottom line, its not very time efficient in getting certain things done in this game. I can't think of a good reason why they don't have enough solo content. LDoN would be perfect for soloers..it would definately perk my interest.

I have found that quests I can solo give more satisfaction. I have always said it isn't the highly skilled players with the high end loot, its the ones with the most friends/time.

This was actually one of the main reasons I left Eq1 for EQ2. Supposedly Everquest 2 was supposed to be full of all kinds of SOLO content. However with EQ2 once you hit about lvl 20 all of a sudden every quest is kill X ^^ mobs and get X gold and minimal exp pretty much, or of course the hertiage quests which was like mini epic quests sorta(BTW ^^ mobs where for groups only pretty much).

Anyways I would like to see more solo quests in eq1, but I don't guess it will happen. And as a monk I am VERY limited to what I can solo. I do very little questing in eq1 cause of the exact reasons you talk about. Either your camping a rare spawn mob, need a raid to kill a mob, need a rare piece of loot that 10,000 other people on your server need, or all of the above.

**EDIT**

Oh and of course you can see I came back to eq1 cause I didn't like eq2. Id go into details, but I doubt anybody cares heh.
