I've only had the game a few weeks, have a warrior and a necro approaching lvl 20 and a bard at lvl 8. I hear eq2 is comin out in June, is it worth getting LDoN?

Right... I guess what I'm trying to say is, I plan on getting eq2 for a fresh start and will likely not play eq nearly as much, but who knows. So, given that it comes out in a few months and I play two characters regularly and I likely won't level them past 40 in those few moths, would I actually use the features of expansions like LDoN and GoD? BTW, I have the Evolution pack.

Well, it's really your call.

LDoN can be fun and good exp with a good and efficient group; and it can be a tortue with a bad group because you can't just make up an excuse and disband. While it is possible to have fun and good exp, the real reward is when you reach level 65 and do a lot of adventures for pts. However, good groups are hard to come by. Most likely you'll be invted to a group which takes 30 mins to recuite and get everyone in zone, 20 mins to figure out what adventure type to get, 20 mins to buff up and get ready, and 20 mins after each adventure to figure out split and loot. By the time you are done with one adventure, you could have ding'ed couple times in grind exp zones.

GoD offers not much for sub 65 characters, so skip it for sure.

If you are sure you are planning to move to EQ2, then I suggest don't buy any expensions.

Kk, I probably won't. I don't have a clue what you're talking about when you mention adventures and not being able to disban a group. It's probably not worth explaining if you don't want to though.

EQ2 has been coming out since 2000. If Sony actually releases it this summer, it will be at least as full of holes as EQ1 was when it was released (anyone else remember Patch-Tuesdays?)

Personally, I will not be buying EQ2. I've put in way too much time into my characters on EQ1 to start all over. That being said, I'd find it a bit daunting coming into EQ1 this late in the game. When I started playing EQ everyone wanted to help each other. Now, everyone (myslef included) is very jaded or too caught up in their own routine to help new players. EQ2 would allow new players to be somewhat on par with EQ veterans.
