Hey guys, Newb here. I recently got interested in MMORPGs and EQ struck my fancy. I'm looking to buy one on eBay, but before I do, if it's opened, can I use the previously played CD Key to create my account? The one I'm looing to buy is the trilogy, with one expansion (The one with the tiger on the front?) for ten bux, free shipping. It said it was un opened, but I figured I would ask anyway just incase. Thanks a lot all.
Also, Can anyone link me to a subscription info site? I'm having some difficulty finding one, thanks.

Once the key has been used it can NOT be used again. Buy only unopened software. I have read about people on here before who got stuck that way.
If you are buying an actual account with the passwords, that is against the EULA and if you get caught, they can cancel your account.
[edit] There is a different key associated with each expansion. Even if one person wants 2 accounts, you have to buy a completely new set of CD's.

Thanks! Well, as a follow up, I bought the trilogy, and two expansions for $9.89 total. It's unopened, and is arriving via media mail. But, as a follow up, which expansions are best to have? A friend of mine told me Planes of Power was essentially useless for a while as the zone contains pretty high level monsters. The two expansions I recieved were Kunark and Luclin. Also, any character class/race suggestions as of yet? Thanks.
The PoP expansion, while not essential, is good to have for ease of travel. Yekesha(sp?) Is also not needed when starting out but also good to have. Don't bother with GoD just yet, if at all, as it is made for the 50+ game. LDoN is almost a must at lvl 20+.
As for race and class, no suggestions here.

Luclin is good, that includes the bazaar, which I could not do without.
Planes are for higher levels except Plane of Knowledge which includes lots of portals that make travel MUCH easier. I think it is one of the most important expansions for that reason. You won't fight in the planes yet, but getting around before PoP was very hard sometimes. And PoK is a big gathering area, lots of buffs, spells, etc. I would buy this before others, my opinion.
Legacy of Yekesha gives you froggy characters, and doubles your bank slots.
I will let someone else tell you about the others, Velious, GoD, LDoN.
My advise for new player. Kill things in your newbie zone. Do not sell bone chips, spiderling silks, spider silks, low, medium, or high quality pelts to merchants. Sell them to other players in bazaar and make very good money for a newbie.

Evolutions is a good choice to buy - its the original game plus 5 expansions, plus a free month of play if its a new account. If you already have EQ, and buy Evolutions to upgrade expansions then you don't get the free month (but the total cost of the expansions is low).
There are two more expansions to get - Lost Dungeons (LDoN) and Gates of Discord; your characters should be level 20+ for LDoN, and level 50+ for GoD. That gives you plenty of time to decide if you want those expansions.
