I spent an hour last night trying to get my hotbuttons doing what I wanted them to do - to no avail. Smiley: mad I picked up the tips on another site, but the instructions were difficult to follow. This is what I am trying to accomplish:

1. A button that will alow me to slam, pause, kick, pause, slam.

2. A button that will allow me to switch weapons without pulling up my inventory window. Example, switch 2 2HS items to 1 2HS item.

3. A button that will allow me to switch breastplates. (Ones is Ikky ceremonial and has a, albeit slow, regen effect.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

1. Hmmm, never tried to make a hotkey with the combat actions. Since they are not an "ability", /doability won't work (i.e. it doesn't appear on the ability page).

2. There is not a button set-up that will switch weapons for you. The easiest way is to have two open inventory spaces (not in a bag). On you hotkey page click and drag over these two inventory spaces as well as your primary and secondary weapon slots. Pick-up and move the weapons back and forth from these spaces.

3. Same as #2, so you'll need more open inventory spaces.

If there is a way to make a button like you described, it will be news to me.

The article I saw is here - under the heading COMBO. I don't think I did the first part correctly. The toon does kick once when I hit the faulty combo button that I made, but that's all he does. I'll resign myself to the fact that I can't do the auto-weapon switch, but can anyone elaborate on the COMBO button if, in fact, its possible to make it work?

Try increasing your pauses, change them from 1 to 50 and see if it works, albiet very slowly. Then slowly decrease the number until it doesn't work anymore, you will then have the pause that works best for your internet connection. At least this is how it works with casting hotkeys.

Doability 7-10 operates the 4 buttons on the combat page under the melee and range buttons.

An alternative to using up hotbuttons on your open slots for weapon switching is to use an alternative UI. Most if not all of these allow you access to inventory without having to open it.

I have my kick and /loc commands on one hotbutton. As mentioned above the combat buttons are numbered 7 to 10.
You do realize you can either kick or slam, not both. Using one of these abilities will grey out the other during a fight. The advice to increase the amount of pause is good. You will have to find out how long to make the pauses, as I am not aware of the refresh rates on these activities.

To make a hotkey for swapping equipment you simply depress the inventory slot untill it gives you a square on your cursor, then move it to the hotkey number you want it to be. To switch items you will then have to have the other item (say iksar bp) on your cursor to put it in the slot. Its just a bit faster than opening inventory page.
