Helping a almost Level 44 newbie :-)Follow

Hello folks,
After a two and a half year abscence, my wife and I have returned to Everquest. Wow has the EQ world changed! When we left I was a Level 43 Magician on Rodcet and my wife was a 49 Druid. After playing again for about a week I have a ton of questions, but the most pressing one is:

Where would the best place be for a 43 mage + 49 druid combo to hunt to get max experience with the least amount of risk for a pair. We arent ready yet to get into pickup groups because we are a bit "rusty". We have all the expansions except Ykesha and Gates.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated,

I would recommend Ocean of Tears (killing seafury cyclops') or maybe even cobalt scar (kill wyverns not the drakes). Might can still get exp in Rathe Mountains. I would also recommend getting the Ykesha expansion due to the content provided for those levels. You could then easily hunt in gunthak and/or dulak (on one of the boats).

Well around that level Eastern Wastes is good, plus not normally too many people about if you're finding your way.

Also may be worth a shot is scarlet desert, from the TD side if you dont have enduring breath, most stuff cons blue to me at 52 and I had to do a CR through there over the weekend and all the zones were deserted - completely - don't do what i did though and zone into the grey from scarlet desert at 5 pct health...slaves were right on the zoneline - hence the cr.

Wb to rodcet :)

Scarlet Desert.

The vampyre camps in Tenebrous Mountains.

Burning Woods.

Skyfire Mountains.

Jagged Pines.

In all cases I would have the Druid pulling to the Mage pet and everywhere except Skyfire the Druid can also use a pet.

The druid is almost past Scarlet Desert and Burning Woods, I would head to these two first, to check them out if nothing else. Both have a wide range of interesting mobs, BW drops are a bit old hat now, but the PP from the giants is still good. SD has a few good drops that still sell well.

Don't forget about 3 man LDoN's, get a Paladin to pull for you and you have a great LDoN team.

Edit... Oops almost forgot. There are several reasons why getting Ykesha is a good idea, but there is one essential reason, the druid healing spell Healing Waters, you really do need to get that.

If you have LDoN for both accounts, go through the necessary steps to get your adventure stone, then you can do some good advs for some good exp and coin. You won't really need GoD yet, but if you want to try out the leadership and tribute systems, and the berserker class, then you'll need GoD.

Sol B kobolds, let the pet tank while druid heals (and snares!) and the mage nukes. Easy experience, low hit points, nice zone experience modifier, handy druid port nearby.

Where would you suggest setting up camp for this Samira?

The problem I've always had with a duo here is keeping a safe spot cleared, I must have been pulling to the wrong spots.

Nice place to setup in sol B is the "window room" or the "pool room". Both should be listed on the map (eqatlas).

Pool room would be a bit much for this duo I think (could be wrong though). I'd try the little two-spawn room that's left then right from the entrance hallway. Before the ramp up to the pool/window rooms, turn right. There's one kobold to be killed there, and two in the tiny room beyond, and then it's yours to pull to.

Once the mage hits 44 and has a better pet you can probably branch out a bit farther. I remember the 44 pets owning those kobolds.

I want to thank everyone that has been replying to this thread. Great information! SO you think a paly would make this a good LDON trio? That sounds very interesting. I have been on one adventure with my Necro (29) but not have had the opportunity with my mage. BTW after lasdt night...1 bubble to 44! Woot!

Thanks again everyone,
