Don't think of me as naiv please but beginning from the newbie zone if you ***** up you die.

*Sigh i am not talking about Major 'gee i am Leiany i just rooted myself again' ***** up i am talking 3 seconds late on CH type mistakes margins are much smaller and you REALLY need to know your class.

Yes if your HP drop to zero you Die <And it can be argued that at 65 it matters less since you can 96% rez and it's not like Xp matters once you have secured 65.> But as a newbie hell even upto tier 1 Mobs are much more forgiving of mistakes and you have time to correct the situation> From what i have seen while raiding in BoT if groups ***** up it is 'not oops bit late on the heal there', or 'damn nuked a bit early then', it's Loading please wait......

How about dying in a PoP plane, only to realize that you're bound at Temple of Veeshan entrance and you're the group's cleric.

Sounds like the definition of "screwed"!

You'd better hope your best friend is a Druid I think, lol.

As far as I understood now the problem at higher levels is not actually dying but being unseccesfull, means if your group gets killed 5 times in a row just because of a *slight* mistake can be very frustrating and time consuming.

I guess that "unforgivenness" of mistakes is what makes high-end play so challenging.....and I think I understand now better why good players fear twinked/accountbought fools as much as the mobs themselves at after a certain level *lol*

I started out doing noob area in Field of Bones then went to the center of the Field. At about 15 or so I went into Kurns til everything on the first level was light blue. Did some research on this url and headed to Lake of Ill Omen. Hunted in LoIO for quite a few levels. And the whole time wishing I could hunt in FV. At 30 or so, I did just that. Soloing was fun but grouping is important so I snuck over to The Overthere and stayed until about 35. Watch out for Dragoons if you are a lighty like Hatteras. Came back to this url and decided to join the Coldaines and kill Frost Giants in Great Divide. Currently at 41 and although Giants hit HARD, the plat returns and Velum(SP) wpns cash in nicely.

Just my way.

I didn't PL my druid to 40 and I'm not PLing my warrior (25 atm) either. The Druid's progression so far:

Newbie
Blacburrow
FOB
Kurn's
Paludal
HHK
DSP
OT
DL

As was said earlier, throw in some others for fun: EC, Hollowshade, Splitpaw (learned to quad kite outside it) Karanas (bandit camps in WK were great xp and loot in the high teens, and you can turn in the sashes for additional xp. Rathe Mountains was great for loot and xp if you get a group to kill hillies....just be courteous and watch out for KS. Was not a major problem for me on Fennin Ro, but then PC is only mildly annoying at times there. I get the sense its worse on other servers.

Also, PC is not the only zone with a 13% exp bonus. Offhand, I know SPlitpaw is as well.

Enjoy the ride

The faster these idiots get to 65 and realise that they have no clue as to what Everquest is about and leave the game the better!

well, I wouldnt be that harsh as the quoted person, but I have to say, that properly phrased the question should have been:
"what do you think is the best way to level for my [class] [race] and what do I have to keep in mind skill-wise?"
I mean, Pallies/Clerics e.g. do excel with undeads, so send them to Unrest. Wizzies need to watch out for Specilisation evocation...never swim through the lake in DC unless you are prepared to die and search your corpse for ages... there is plenty of info one needs to survive.
aw, well, whatever Smiley: banghead

The way I normally lvl my toons:

The zone closest to where you start /lvl 7-8

Then go to crushbone in Gfay /till about lvl 12-13

Then try and get into a group in Paludal caverns /stay there till you hit about 20-25. At first try and get into a fiend group then wait around to get into a Bandit group.

Then do Ldon for as long as you like. I got to lvl 43 in no time with my warrior doing Ldon.

Gonna try a different answer.

Fastest way to level is to have major and minor goals. Read widely, talk to folk, identify quests you want to try, items you want to save up for, zones you cant wait to explore, things to try (never kited? never duod?). Set some personal goals... ask advice on the lowest level for your class to solo an ice giant, then subtract 2 levels and make it your goal to suprise others with your deeds.
Set a personal goal.. to be generous, or brave, or allways ready to answer questions.

time will fly, you will stay motivated, and know "whats next".
