"These are not PoP mobs by any means. They don't hit as hard."

I have to laugh at this. While there are a *very* few mobs in GoD that are easier than your avg. PoP mob, most hit much harder and will kill you faster. Sure they die faster but that doesnt mean much when they hit for 200-500 and then proc for another 75-500(which they do quite often). PoP mobs are boring they dont hit hard and have too many hps, the GoD mobs are just the opposite, hard-hitting and low hps.

Ever been hit by the green squids in the water? 350 is the max ive seen so far but 350 from a green is crazy. Even with a great group a tank in his 40s is gonna die and often. One in his 50s should have no problem so long as there is a slower and a good healer and they stay away from the Noc's.

Your pretty much stuck killing the crags and an occasional hyiena but not much else until higher. Mobs are highly slow/snare/root resistant and many run at sow speed. God forbid they aggro the swift stalker..talk about a quick trip to the bind point.

This is just in the first zone, dont bother even going to the next. As an example we were pulling to the zone and i got aggro was tripled for 500+ and all three hits proc'd a 500dd, that 3k dmg in one round off a mob at the zone in....nice ).

All this may sound like i hate the new mobs/zones but after playing for a few days i absolutely love it! It seperates the people who can play their class from those that havent a clue, and the strong from the meek. At 58 i duo(shaman) with my brother who is a necro all the way to Ferubi which is where zone mobs hit for 1200 a pop and end my fun , while i see 65's running trains on the safe camp in Natimbi...priceless.

This expansion is awesome for anyone who knows their class in and out and doesnt freak out when mobs actually are a challenge. I am still a bit pissed about the tribute nerf and the fact it wont let me zone into the first sewer trial but another couple days of exp will fix that.

Shaman can do whatever, whenever they want to. That is no big accomplishment. Thats just another example of the true unbalancing of shamans class.

Not to sound snide, since I don't have Gates, but this is different from PoK how?

I haven't had the time to check absolutely everything and it seems that the eq-traders lists aren't yet complete either, but it does look like the tradeskill vendors have most of the known vendor materials needed for each tradeskill, all gathered together in the one spot.

Even in PoK there were many items that you would still have to run around all over the place to gather together for a particular recipe.

(Part of the excitement is probably to do with the large range of new recipes as well.)

Well, I found out that I bought it on both of my accounts...or more accruately ---> My kids bought it on each of my accounts! DOH! <I told them to hit the LATER button!>

It is designed for 50+. Now I am not going to call anyone names at all. But, hypothetically speaking, a person who is not anywhere near 50th level would have to be an idiot if they purchased this and then got angry...because it states EVRYWHERE that it is for 50th and above. Just hypothetical, mind you. ;-)

Are the new combat abilities tied directly to this expansion? That is a reason for lower level characters to require the expansion.

There is really no reason for sub 50's to buy this expansion at all the tribute system costs way too much. The leadership system is not all that impressive and the spells are all lvl 65 except for ports which is redundant. The only thing you could use is the tradeskill recipies and then you'd have to buy the components in the baz because you wouldn't be able to farm them yourself.

QOUTE {How about if they give someone that has just started a heads up that they will not be able to use the newest upgrade????}

what the hell did they put berzerker class in for if the GoD exspansion is useless to newer players?? why cant a newer player start a berzerker? you really must think before you type. In the debate of bringing up a discussion, you have no strong facts to back your side up, simple as this GoD is good for all lvls (1-50) new class available (51-65) (in my case mah twinks will go there earlier) new zones, quest, flags, and a whole lotta 150+ hp items. So raid it a lil you will change your mind

Bleh...shaman are unbalancing? Tell that to the chanter/necro/druid and their dire charm that could solo circles around me. Hell tell my brother that and he'd laugh at you. He has every dot i have and then some and a pet with 5200 hps. which is over 2 times the hp of my pet, not to mention snare, slow(undead), feign death and better heals(lifetap, pet heals).

Its not that shaman are overpowered its just that shaman/necro make one hell of a duo team.

Anyway the point of my last post really wasnt about me but about the fact that so many players dont know much more than sitting in a group and casting 1 or 2 spells each time a mob comes to camp while looking at their exp bar, so of course when a challenging expansion comes along they all start crying.

Hopefully SOE doesnt cave on this expansion like they did PoP...have you been to BoT lately? I loved that place when the only people there are people who could play their character(for the most part), now every jackass that hits 62 can zone in and start running trains...oh joy.
