I am too, really. I mean, the halfling cultural one is already a 10-slot giant 100WR, right? Can't get much better than that. Or any better, really unless it lowers coin weight as well Smiley: eek

Even a 10-slot giant 100WR would kinda **** off the halfling tailors, I imagine. Though cultural smithing has been surpassed by other smithing so I guess it's not like halfling tailoring is sacred.

Just out of curiosity, is it a >250 trivial combine?
#4 Feb 11 2004 at 11:57 AM Rating: Decent
Getting halflings pissed off....yeah...I frankly never understood why onesingle race is allowes to craft something exclusively that is basic equipment for any other class&race while Half Elves aren't even able to craft a cultural toothpick.....

100WR Giant 10-Slot bags are basic equipment?

It's not as if the best bags in the game are an entitlement. And, even if you feel they are, just go buy some Tink bags.

Anyone can tailor 10% WR backpacks as well as WR bags. I'd consider that to be pretty basic equipment, especially seeing that it's pretty easy to get a WR bag these days. Maybe not eight WR bags, but basically anyone can get at least one 10% or better WR bag.

Halfling cultural is NOT the only 100% WR bag that can be made.

There is a Tae Ew bag that any race can make which is actually better than leatherfoot bags. Leatherfoot bags weigh 0.3, the Tae Ew bag weighs 0.1, and is also 10-slot, 100% WR and giant capacity, with a >250 trivial.

I'm willing to bet the bag Leiany listed is going to be another expensive one to make, like the leatherfoot bags. Those treated shimmering steel threads look very similar to the infused platinum threads the leatherfoot bags call for, which are 1 blue diamond and 1 platinum thread (vendor bought for over 200p each) and require 2 of them. The treated aligned steel thread requiring 4 is very similar to the leatherfoot bags requiring 4 woven dire wolf fur tufts also. Yeah, this one is gonna cost a bundle.

High quality Bear/Rockhopper pelt + Backpack pattern

Result: 10 Slot, 10% WR, Giant capacity bag. Wt 3.0 as I recall. Trivials in the 70's?

Farm bear pelts in QHills or the Commonlands. I believe the bears in Ned's Landing drop them as well. Rockhoppers can be farmed in various Luclin zones I never go to because Luclin is a dump Smiley: wink

go to www.eqtraders.org for the recipies
Jophiel I am ashamed for you. Hand made backpack trivials at 86. I know as my tailoring is 88. <grin>
And if my memory doesnt fail me as yours did backpacks only hold large items not giant.
Anyone with a tailoring in the 40's can make a hand made bag (not bp a bag) with lq hide and silken strand. 10% wr. Hand made bag holds 6 items and weighs under a stone while the bp weighs 3.
edit to correct spelling mistakes.

Heh.. I never took up tailoring, so my apologies on the faulty info Smiley: smile

Personally, I think most lower level characters can get by without WR bags and, by the time they might really want them, can get some from Crystal Caverns, Najena, the Warrens, Kaesora, etc. They might not be 10 slot 100WR bags, but they'll serve the purpose.

Ah yes my word choice was poor. Any LQ hide and a silk Cord will make a tailored container. Lq wolf makes a wrist pouch (wording may be off again) Lq cat and bear make a bag with different size capacity. All of the tailored bags are wr.
It was pointed out a while ago that the tailored bag which has the same Wr as the backpack is lighter and may be a better choice for some who dont need the capacity.
All my main toons use a rallic pack. I use handmade backpacks simply because as a paladin I carry more than one weapon and armor items. That 10 slot capacity is helpful. Winjon also has the Shralok pack and Sewn evil eye bag.

An LQ cat pelt and silk thread will make a tailored large belt pouch. Medium and smaller items, 6 slot.

According to the recipes on this site, a ruined wolf pelt and silk cord will make a tailored wrist pouch. Tiny (and smaller) items, 4 slot.

and the thick grizzly bear pelt + silk cord makes a bearskin potion bag for alchemy. add a gold ribbon (purchased from NPC in gunthak) and you get a folded one. thick grizzly pelt + silver ribbon (from same NPC) gets you a folded medicine bag.

here's the stuff on bags
