Two Questions: Foraging & BrewingFollow

I would greatly appreciate any help with the following two questions:

1. I want to improve my foraging skill. Are Druids able to do so? If so, I'd like some advice on what I can link the foraging hotkey to. I use my mouse for movement, so using the directional arrow keys won't help me. Linking it to the autoattack button doesn't work either, because I get a message telling me I can't forage while attacking. Can it somehow be linked to a mouse button?

2. For roleplaying reasons, at least for right now I like to buy a book from a NPC vendor to learn recipes to up my tradeskills. Right now I'd like to work on Brewing. I can't find any books anywhere! I've looked at those vendors listed on the Find menu as Brewing Supplies in Ak'Anon, Freeport, Qeynos and Kelethin, and at the three Brewing vendors just east of the Library in PoK. Anyone know where the books are? I'm tired of zoning all around the world to look. (I'm good aligned so I can't look in places like Oggok or Neriak. And I already have the basic tradeskill books from my GM.)

Thanks in advance for any help!

Well, I guess at a minimum they fixed my problem with question #2, what with the new tradeskill-container-do-all-the-research-for-you thingy....

And I guess I'll know better than to put an ampersand in the title next time. It creates weirdness in the subject line and then no one answers you!

Druids do get the forage skill but not until a certain level, which I think is 14. If you are a wood elf you also get forage but it has a racial cap that will not improve until your druid levels beyond the cap number. Ie. racial cap 50 your class skill will not increase untill level 10. But in case of a druid who doesnt get forage until 14 your skill will not increase untill then.

No idea about setting forage macro since you use mouse. Maybe make a loot key that forages for you as well.

I think that you could just make a forage hot key and place it in your hotkey window ( 1 thru 10 ) and just tap that key as you rin along or whatever. That's what the wife and I did with our druids untill we found out about linking hotkeys to movement arrows. It worked fairly well. As for recipes - go to any of the tradeskill sites - linked from this site - and find one that you like. I use several different ones, for the different trade skills that I'm working on and really dont remember which is best for brewing as I got that as high as I wanted it quite some time ago and am too lazy to try to go find it right now.

Druids get forage at level 5 or earlier depending on race.

If you go into Options (Alt + O), then to Keyboard, you can map a function to a hotkey. I think - not logged in now so can't verify - that you can indeed use a mouse click. Just click your chosen mouse key instead of typing in a value. If that doesn't work then yes, you need to use the hotkey.

This is with the default UI; other UIs may accommodate foraging better.

Edit: forgot to add that the skill does indeed go up, caps at 200 I believe. Increases in the skill are capped by level.
