I am a lvl 26 pally and have a low skill level in 2HS. I have silver chitin hand wraps and an argent protector . I am little by little raising my skill level but it is very tough. I need a good 1HS weapon to use in areas where I cant afford to miss every other time as is happening with my argent while I bring up my skill level. I have a centi short sword and a decent shield but could use some suggestions on a good weapon to buy. I would like to spend no more than 4000 pp hopefully a little less than that. I am on the Cazic Thule server. This is my first toon. I have only one alt level 12 warrior.

I 2 box alot (mainly ******** around with alts) when I am not raiding.
My main is a 65 Shaman. I decided to dust off a Wood Elf Ranger I made beginning of 2003. His weapon skills were quite low (with the exception of 1HS), but improved very quickly after getting buffed by the Shaman.
From the time my Ranger went from 28 until 32, all of his Melee Skills were maxed (with the exception of H2H, which only went from 0 to 88 before hitting 32).
My next phase is trying to improve his Bind Wound Skill(currently at 4).
I get the best skillups hitting Yellows, Reds and Whites are about the same, Blues about 1/2 that of Yellow, Light Blue very poor, Green... I have never tried.
Remember this is with the Sub-50 Shaman buffs, and a TON of DEX gear. (unbuffed DEX is 158 with gear only). My shaman is currently in another zone, so I am unsure what my Rangers buffed DEX is.

I have a level 51 pally and I'm still using my argent protector. It's a very nice weapon with a huge damage ratio. Your character at this point is uber twinked, and this may be the core reason why your skills are advancing so slowly. Your character is leveling fairly fast, however, you're finding that you can't advance your weapon skills in multiple categories fast enough before you ding. My advice (for what it's worth), save your cash and go a little slower. As a pally you will want to invest some effort into 1HB and piercing (especially for lances).
The amount of damage you can inflict upon a mob is capped per level, so buying the most damaging weapons you can find along with strength items isn't going to help your DPS. If you need to advance your weapons skills consider purchasing wisdom and dexterity jewelry and keep them in your pack (for times when you want to train-up). Dexterity is a key component in how fast you learn a weapon skill. The weapon's delay also has a slight factor, for the more strikes you make the more "checks" are made to see if you advance in that weapon. You may not want to drag this "training weapon" into a major battle, but a fast weapon that does modest damage may help you to advance quicker in that weapon class.
Also take a look at the Paladins of Norrath website. There's tons of good information and the Tomes of Knowledge section is a must read. They also have an equipment check section that you will want to peruse.

At your level your best 1h weapon will come from using a Mace of the fallen crusader. Both my 52 paladin and my 35 paladin use one for 1h weapon. To keep up my 1hs skill I use a wakizashi of the Frozen skies. It doesn't do a lot of damage but with a delay of 22 its fast. By all means get a dex buff/potion/equipment for skill up practice.
For 2hs I have an argent protector and weighty polearm the latter is dirt cheap on MT server, about 20p.
