Anybody know if this quest is broken? I gathered all the pieces, and talked to everybody, and got the bag to combine them in. Now the question I have is this... Is the quest broken, or do I have the wrong Ghoul Carrion? Is there any way to tell? I know allakhazams says the Ghoul Heart off the grazed ghoul in Unrest, but when I did this quest with my main, it was called ghoul carrion. did they change this?

I beleive its actually a heart. Those Carrions have dropped ever since I started playing EQ (back when Kunark had just come out). The Ghoulbane quest has not been in the game that long. I seen a paladin who was killing those crazed ghouls trying to get the heart. Apparently its just a really rare drop.
It is definately the Ghouls Heart you need for the combine, ghoul carion is something else.
Oh and be be prepared to go crazy waiting for it to drop.

There are (only) three ghouls that will drop the heart and all of them are on the second floor of the mansion; one in the SE corner tower, one in the SW corner closet and one in the NW room where the Reclusive Ghoul Magi spawns.
The mob can either be a "ghoul" or a "crazed ghoul" and from what I've seen the drop rate isn't ultra rare, more like one in ten.

most times someone will do a shout if they find it -- just peek about and let it be known that you are looking for the heart. most folks have no issue with others lootiing somethng no drop that they cannot use themselves. gl and happy hunting.

It does have to be the ghoul's heart. While looking for these items I just did an /ooc offering free heals and Pally buffs for any newbies in zone. Folks were happy to let me look after I explained. Happy hunting!
