quick money?Follow

are there any ways to make quick money as a newbie char, or not, but less than lvl 20, like farming? and where to go to do it and other things related would be helpful.

Spidrling silks, and rusty weapons in bazaar. Also, in shadoweavers thicket, Lesser shades drop swirlingshadows which sell for 50pp each on zeb! Lesser shades are only lvl 1 or two tho!

I like East Commonlands when it is not busy, if you hunt spiderlings at Inn 2 for a while then over to Orc 1, and kill lions, spend about 20 minutes in each location and switch. You will end up with lots of Medium and High Quality Cat Pelts and spiderling silks. Teh you are off to the bazaar, with your bags full.

The only way for chars lvl 8+ I know which does not involve the bazaar is to kill goblins (but NOT aqua goblins) in Butcherblock. They dropp blood and heads which go for 2pp each at vendors. No idea why =)

In response to the aqua goblin thing, I'm 95% sure those items all fetch a few silver now, unless the previous nerf was reversed. :\

If you don't mind spending a day doing so, and can't take crag spiders, hunting the Bonecrawlers in Field of Bone can get you a stack of spider silk an hour, which can be sold as silks for 5pp a piece or 10pp a piece when made into swatches. The North Qeynos newbie area is okay for vendor fodder. You can get 20pp+ an hour there(dunno if you consider that good) being able to kill the gopher snakes quickly. The snakes usually fund my casters' spells until 12 or 14.

The aqua goblins were nerfed. The normal goblins were not: vials of green goblin blood and green goblin heads still sell for 4 pp (not 2) at vendors. In BB you can also farm pristine skunk stails and Greenblood insignia, which also sell for 4 pp each. The easiest way is with a tracking class, which pretty much means rangers below level 20, although any class can do it if they can survive the fights and the goblin camps aren't camped.

Besides that, like other people have said, the key is knowing what higher level tradeskillers will pay their money for because it's easier than taking the time to farm it themselves. So, spider silks and high quality (any quality really) pelts. If it says "this item can be used in tradeskills" odds are you'll get more from it from a player than from a vendor. Many things are so useless that players won't buy them, so research is necessary.

Game on,

Newbie Steps for Money Making (or What Worked for Me)

1. Create a gnome int caster and max out intellegence.

2. Park said Mule in the bazaar.

3. Save everything you loot that says "Used in tradeskills".

4. Spiderlings are your friend. Kill them until you you have 4 stacks of spiderling silks.

5. Go to EC and hunt lions, bears, wolves, spiderlings, spiders but be sure to kill other things to clear the loot table. Save all low med high pelts as well as ruined.

6. Sell all HQ cat in bazaar for 20pp each, along with spider silks at at least 5p. Sell HQ bear for 30pp or save them to make backpacks with.

7. Give all pelts and silks to gnome, he is your tradeskiller. Buy skinning knife from pc in the bazaar.

8. Buy Sewing Kit and patterns from tailor in PoK. Doesn't matter what kind of pattern you buy, so long as it is for clothes ie not backpack or quiver.

9. Combine two spiderling silks in sewing kit to make thread. Do this with all of them.

10. Combine ruined pelts with patterns to make patchwork armor, sell to vendor. The point is to get to around 25 skill in tailoring.

11. Combine 2 spider silks to make silk swatch. Combine silk swatch with pattern to make silk armor. Sell to vendor. Do this until you have around 35+ in tailoring.

12. Take all your medium quality pelts and combine in sewing kit with the skinning knife, this turns them into Low Quality.
Do the same with High quality wolf pelts.

13. Combine 1 Low Quality (Cat Bear Wolf) pelt with 1 Silk Thread (from spiderlings). Return is Leather Padding.

14. Sell Leather Padding for 30pp each in bazaar, or 600 a stack. Once you sell first load watch the bazaar for low prices on pelts, including rockhoppers. Low quality rockhopper pelts combine with Shadeling Thread, basically the same thing but from Luclin. If you see a good price on Pelts, say 5pp each, buy them up. Try to buy your Spiderling silks for 5 or less and shadeling silks for 3 or less. Try to get the pelts at 5 to 10pp. Make leather padding, repeat.

15. After a few weeks of this, you should have 10k or so, look for deals in the bazaar. I like the Greater Cloak of Pernacity. It always sells in a day or so for 10k, so if I see it for 8k I'll buy it and sell it. Haste items are good for this, things with "effect worn" properties, certain weapons and shields.

sorry for long post.

I made a new untwinked shaman a month or two ago. Using Meadros's method, I made 5k by the time I was level 10. Leather padding is teh win.

Interesting - the price on swirling shadows on economy-challenged Stromm has dropped to 10pp! Who buys rusty weapons?

Check the bazaar for these 4 items:

Shadeling silk
Shade silk
Spiderling silk
Spider silk

Find out which is selling for the most, and has the least amount available and farm those.

You can find shadeling silk en'masse in shadeweavers thicket off of the silk worms. At your level I would work on getting enough of those to become decently midlevel outfitted (i.e. 100-500pp per slot) and then focus on leveling, farming PP will become easier as you level up.

How do you set up vendor? Is your vendor up still selling while you are logged off or do you have to stay on to sell at bazaar?
#13 Feb 03 2004 at 3:09 AM Rating: Decent
No PC has to be up , if you logg off your vendor loggs off :). I usually put vendor before I sleep and next morning if im lukcy I have some extra pp ..also location location location is the key go back into bazzar lagg is less there , put vendor visible to passing players dont want to be behind a big troll barb or something.

Command /trader to sell click on items on trader baggs (about 1 pp from vendor in bazaar) click set price and then click add ..and then when all are priced click button to begin trading ..correct me if im wrong can't remember keys from window. I'm not a big trader kind of guy ..prefer to team and go hunting.

Nice post meadros . for lower levels the werrens is a great place to get some good gold ..and some low bronze wepons sell for 1 pp or 2 pp but they key if not kos to erudin or peineel the molar quest.

BTW peinel newbie area as well as gnome area has some skeletons lots of them save boen chips about 4 6 stacks at level 2 or 3 go to kaladim city pally quest there ..for bones nice exp and some gold and lamp or rusty wepon ...I love this quest better than orc belts..and pads..

I tried combining silk swatch with a pattern (it was a tunic pattern) and it wont work. What excactly do I need to make silk armor.
#15 Feb 03 2004 at 5:32 PM Rating: Decent
I think yo uneed more than 1 sillk swatch. check eqtraders.com .
#16 Feb 03 2004 at 9:05 PM Rating: Decent
Just incase Im not the only one who decides to go this rout. Of corse I was using the tunic pattern and the silk swatch (with tunic you need 2 silk swatches), but thes is direct quote from eqtrader.com.
Do not choose to skill up on the tunic or the pants patterns; they require 2 swatches. All other pieces require 1 swatch, and since they all trivial at 36, why waste swatches?
