Must be usuable by both a pally and a wizzie.. I am fairly new to EQ.. and I do NOT like swimming.. so to avoid the whole drowning thing I need 1 of these.. Espically since for my Divine Might spell quest I have to get an item form a dungeon entirely under water.. Sheesh!!!

I have no idea what the easiest is, but I know I got my Lodizal Shell Shield pretty easily. Well, that is if you consider scrounging up 8kpp to buy it in the bazaar easy.

However, if you are new to EQ, you probably will not find this easy.

I am looking for a Fishbone Earring from haadan the barbarian, easy MoB to kill, but it is a rare drop. I think this is the easiest. Or you could gather a lot of fish scales and use enduring breath. (Disclaimer: WARNING! It is not my fault if enduring breath gets dispelled and you die!)

Look up qeynos hills and hadden on this site. He is a 5 hour 40 min timed spawn with a life expectancy of about 5 mins. Be prepared to camp that spot for a week or so, especially if you cant plsy all day. Good news is once you find his spawn time you can go do somethign for 4 hours. You will want to be back on site about an hour before he spawns again. You will meet lots of folks while camping him. Be shure to bring along 2 fishing poles and lots of bait.

Hadden is level 30 with a very high regeneration of hp. Worse is that unless soothed or harmonized Rephas the enchanter and Axe Broadsmith will come to his aid. My 32 paladin haunted this spawn for 4 weeks ending up with 7 earrings in about 30 kills of hadden. (only sold one of them.) I also maxed out my fishing and swimming per level.
On Morrel thule the earring seems to sell for 4k plat.

The Turtlebone ring which also drops from Lodizal is cheaper than the shield. It can be worn by Wiz and Paladin (which the shield cannot). It goes for 1.5-2k on AB.

I don't think anyone was suggesting you killed Lodi for it Smiley: smile

EB is a useful ability and the mobs are either rare drops - like Hadden - or reasonably tough - like Lodizal. The items therefore are expensive and the mobs heavily camped.

There seem to be plenty of Enduring Breath Items but MANY of them have limited charges. The worn effect ones are all more difficult to get. A friend of mine used to just buy Fish Gill Extract. I personally use an Amulet of Grey Wastes. Although this would require you to already have an EB item to hunt in the Grey. I know!! It seemed silly to me too at the time. But what I did was I bought a Fishbone Earring for only 1K and then promptly sold it for 1.5K when I finished the quest.

hmmmmmm....I think this could probably be filed under the "Useless Babble" section

Hadden is by far the easiest. At lvl 47 my Druid ate him alive. However, it was the worst camp I have ever held. It took me 3 weeks and about 5 server resets to finally find him up and uncamped, and even then I only got him by about 5 seconds before 3 lvl 65s showed up. I can say that at least on xev several people have his spawn timer figured out to the minute and have camped or bound toons right on his spawn site. Its a great item but I will never go through that again to get it.

Hadden is your best bet. On the other hand, if you don't expect to spend much time under water, you could just go with Enduring breath potions or get a mage to summon up some Waterstones (don't remember if they're Lore or not). You can invis through 95% of Kedge anyway and while Phinny dispells, if he's up you're not going down there to grab the bones until he's dead anyway. In other words, avoid Phinny (who'll probably be dead) and avoid the caster mermaids with invis and a single shot of EB should do ya anyway.

Do the seahorses around Phinny see invis? I thought some do. You might have a hard time getting the bones from Kedge for the quest regardless of your ability to breath water unless you get some additional help. Or maybe you already have help.. just throwing that out there.

Easiest? I'd say the 340AP Augment from south ro.

Disagree... do the Amulet of the Grey Waste.

Kill Taskmaster Torkazh in Echo Caverns he also drops the organs for the quest.

MUCH easier camp, assuming you have the levels.

I would definatly say get an EB Aug, they are cheap and you can add them to an item that you already have. Assuming the item you have allows that slot.

The Type 7 EB aug is 510pts. The 340pt one requires a Type 3 slot which means additional points spent to get a bit of equipment.

Of course, unless you have friends willing to go, the chance of you getting even 340pts in DGuk LDoNs before you could have gotten one from some other fashion is pretty slim Smiley: wink

The main reason I suggest an aug is that it does not have to be camped.

The beauty of LDoN is that you're earning XP while working towards loot. All theo ther EB items would require xp less camping.

Back in the day I spent 4 days trying to get Hadden. Today I can get 150 points in one day easily. That means you can get the aug in about 3 days of xping along with about 8 AA. I'd say thats a decent deal.

I'm assuming the OP isn't of sufficent level to get 150AP per day plus 8 AA in four days via LDoNs (since he says he's pretty new to the game). Plus he'd have to do it twice, assuming his paladin and wizard are on the same account and he just wants something he can share between the two.

Biggest problem, again, is that unless you have close friends who'll go with you, DGuk is easily the least popular camp and trying to get people to go there is like pulling teeth. If he's at a level where he's making maybe 10pts per run, that's a lot of begging to get enough pickup groups in DGuk.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for LDoN and advancing through them. But if I wanted an EB item posthaste, I wouldn't consider DGuk pickups as my fastest route.

In case you didn't know, there's a vendor you can buy EB ptions from in pok too. He's in a building by the PoT stone. The Potion is called Fishgill Extract I think. Sells invis potions called Cloudy Potions too.

By the way, I have done the Divine Might quest. Seahorses in Phinny's room DO see through invis. They hit hard and stun you almost constantly. Take high levels with you or camp the zone till some high levels come for Phinny. Had a whole upper 40s-lower 50s group and we got wiped. Second time in, I tried to invis in. Seahorses saw me and killed me quick (after I'd grabbed the finger bone). Luckily, there were 3 65s camping Phinny when I came back for my corpse. A low 50's palladin alone in there stands no chance.

Thank you for all of your good advise.. I am in a guild and I think we will do a guild hunt to get finger bones..

I will wait to either get LDON aug.. ( probably the 510 one in MM), save up to buy item in Bazaar.. or wait until I am near level 60 and get a bunch of guild mates to go to either grey wastes or turtle hunting.. Mage guild mate can make me a ring that lasts for ~ an hour..

The Mistmoore augment is Type 8. The only gear with Type 8 slots is Time gear. You're going to need to hit Deepest Guk for the Type 3 or Type 7 augments.
