Exp in numbers not a bar.Follow

#1 Jan 12 2004 at 2:09 AM Rating: Decent
Anybody know the actual amount of exp it takes to get from 50 to 51 and so on? I was also told that for 1 AA point it takes as much exp as it would to level from 51 to 52 so there isn't much of a point in training AA's till your 60+ because exp is greater there. I was wondering if anybody has calculated the exp in numbers to get each level so I can see how much more exp it takes to get from 60 to 61 as apposed to 50 to 51 etc.

It really depends on your race/class combo the exact amount of exp. I used to have a website bookmarked for that, but it's been a while (not to mention it's probably outdated by now) I'll try and find the site again and link it.

Here it is, but liek I said it's most definately outdated since 'hell levels' have changed.

I would like to see experience shown in real numbers rather than the bar we have now. Not that it would make a big deference, but for those of us who grew up playing Dungeon & Dragons this is the system that we got use to.

I haven't seen an updated scale like the webpage listed above.

However it's correct that one AA point takes the same xp as going from level 51 to 52. Also of note, a friend of mine decided to find out a few things while testing aaxp. If you set your aaxp at 50% when you ding level 59 you'll have 15aaxp points acculumated by the time you ding 60. This of course assumes no deaths.

You are correct to assume that aaxp moves a lot faster at higher levels.

Yeah. I'd like to see this as well. Unfortunately, we probably never will. I don't say this in a "SOE wants us to stay in the dark" kind of way. 2 years ago? Yeah. Today? Not so sure. SOE has added a ton of stuff to the game that they swore they'd never do way back when. They did it all due to pressure from the players and from other games that included those features (maps, tons of player help features, easier leveling, newbie stuff...).

The problem is that the exp numbers aren't "right". Due to the original exp equations, which varied based on class and race, and then changes to remove some class penalties, then more changes to shift around the hell level exp, then more changes to add in group exp modifiers, then more changes to reduce some soloing exp, the numbers just aren't that relevant.

The biggest one is the hybrid penalty. Basically, they didn't actually change the amount of exp you need for each level. Instead, they add a bonus for hybrids after exp is divvied up. What will happen is that you and I would have different amounts of exp required to reach the next level, and would actually get different amounts of exp per kill. In some cases, significantly different amounts (depending on class, race, and relative level).

So a "point" of exp is not the same in every case. You don't get a set amount of points per kill. The only real way to compare things is in relative terms. In that respect, simply tracking percetages of kills is worthwhile.

I do, however, agree with you for one thing. It would be useful to see numbers so we could tell just how useful a kill is based on different types of mobs. I could then know that killing mobX in zoneY gives me more exp per kill then killing mobZ in zoneB. Um... But you can't really make too many comparisons then that. The numbers you'll see will likely only confuse most folks more then it helps them.
