I am not an eq person. My boyfriend plays all the time and loves it. I want to be able to talk to him while he is playing. I know that there is some type of instant messenger thing that you can have without playing the game. Please let me know how to get this.

The messenger you speak of is called EQIM. It is available here for download. Unfortunately it requires you to have an active account on EverQuest in order to login to the messenger. I would have suggested getting your boyfriend to give you his name and password and logging into the messenger with that, but I just tested it and you cannot be on messenger and EverQuest at the same time with the same account (one disconnects as soon as the other sends a message). I seems that there is not a way to talk to your boyfriend in game and you will have to use the old fashioned method of talking on the phone. Sorry.

I think you can if you are logged into difference servers. I have used it to chat from one server to another - yes I can't get the hang of this cross server tell stuff. But if I then switch to same server I'm using for EQIM it crashes bigtime.

Normally when at work if I log on to EQIM it drops my in game mule out of channels. I'll have to make a char on another server and try it out though.
