Playing a wizard myself I am of course biased, but I think wizards can be quite helpful in groups. Especially with ldon where the mobs die fast, burst dps quite helps. Of course that just answers are they useful. Whether or not they are wanted tends to vary. Some people adore wizards and apreciate their damage-doing abilities. Others have had a bad experience with them and mistrust them....the general overall feeling seems to be one of "great for dps but not much else" which I suppose is the truth. Heh.

I have found in most grouping situations I have been in that once a group has a healer and a main tank and possibly crowd control the rest are "fill-ins" and a wizzy makes a good fill in because of DP ability. I am sure there are unique situations where this may not apply but seems to be a general rule of thumb.
Good Luck and Enjoy!

I also play a Wizard on Inny server. I have a very hard time finding a group. Most dont want Wizards, had a few say we was worthless and we didnt need a group because we can solo. I hope others have a better time.

Wizards are very useful, at least IMHO. I play a monk as my main, and I do take damage fairly regularly. A wizard is usually not the first choice for a group, but if we have 1-2 extra slots a wizard is a very good option. I've found that a lot of clerics appreciate having a wiz around, since their huge burst damage can greatly speed up a fight and reduce the amount of damage everyone takes, and thus lessen the burden of healing. If things get hairy, a wizard can save the day. Not just by their evacs but by their ability to chain burn a mob to nothing very, very quickly. Just my 2cp.

My favorite non-pet LDoN group is my enc, a tank that can actually hold agro (warrior/pally/SK all work - as long as they are good there is no problem), two druids, and two wizzies.

You have NEVER seen damage output like this. We often complete missions on the hard setting in under 30 minutes.

One thing to note is there are definately stupid people playing a lot of wizards - which can be said about all classes. All it takes is a wizzy who burns early or overburns too much and your mission can go horribly wrong. Find intelligent people (FRIEND THEM!!!) and you will decimate anything in a dungeon.

Don't forget... Wizzies make a really good ML in addition to all of the above. When adventure done, they can port the group to PoK, or just head there themselves for selling, and meet the group quickly...

Not that being a Wiz myself has biased me any... hehe.
