and still have not made up for the 17K I paid for the spell
No offense, and I'm sincere about that, but this doesn't really bother me. I mean I bet you've come a lot closer to making back that 17k than a shaman who had to spend some ungodly sum on Malo. I bought Ervaj's Lost Composition back when it was 5k or so and so far it hasn't earned me a copper. 5k isn't 17k, but again, I bet you've made more off KEI than I have off of ole Ervaj.

My point is that I can sympathise about expensive spell costs, but in my opinion you buy the spells to help your guild or group. If you can make even 10pp off of it from others, consider yourself blessed. I'm not condoning cheapskates who try to pay 12gp for a Virtue, KEI, etc since I agree with the mana = time = money thing, just that I don't shed many tears over the start-up cost of casting them for plat.

Personally, I almost never buy buffs. If me or my group can't hack an area without external buffs then we probably don't belong there. Druid healing instead of a cleric? Slap a PotG on me instead of Virtue. What would we do if my Virtue was dispelled? Go home? On the rare occassions I do buy a buff, I pay pretty well for it since I can afford to (given that it's a rare expense).

Sorry I didn't mean it like I was expecting anyone to pay me for the cost of my spell. I also have a shaman and trust me I know the cost Malo is gonna kill me and HoV for my Cleric, but what I did want to get accross was that this is on pretty expensive spell, and 90% of the chanters casting are trying to recoupe some of that fund, most I know had to burrow some if not all that cash and now have to pay back friends

Thus, as a Lvl 29 Druid, what would be the most benificial spells that I can get to assist me in soloing. And, since I am imaging that I can only get Clarity, what is an appropriate donation for this?

At lvl 29 I didn't get any buffs before soloing, I tried to learn to solo using only my own buffs. My very early druid days were before KEI was nerfed and I used it allot. Because of that I became very poor at mana managment. When they nerfed it I was about lvl 25. I spent the next 20 levels or so learning how to properly manage my mana while soloing or in an enchanterless group. I think it made me a better druid.

However, back on the point you will want whatever version of Clarity you can get and thats about it. As a druid you should not be getting hit while soloing so you really dont need a boost in HP. And you will not be meleeing so theres no need for haste/dex/str.

KEi - "Now casting KEI behind bank, DONATIONS APPRECIATED not expected" This is the usual chanter call. Donated amounts vary depending upon time of day and location. I find that off peak players are more generous to those that do buffing, than those during the day. I find that the known guilds, such as Triune on MT, all donate nicely (100p - Ty Triune). Donate what you can afford, even a stack of water can help.

Temp - IMHO - At least cover cost of components with a little profit. I use this philosoply on Temp - When i grew up as a little chanter no one was gonna pay me for c1 or c2, so i wouldnt pay for than say 15p for Temp.

Rezzez - Donation appreciated always-

Im pretty new to this game, but if I am correct can't Clerics summone peridots with a spell? therefore it costs them nothing (in cash) although it does cost time and mana. I still donate, but being a poor druid I can only donate 15pp for Temp and usually 5pp for Clarity.

No they can not summon them. They can Imbue them which turns there current Peridots into Peridots Immbued with the power of thier god. These are then used in tradeskills, and are no longer any use for casting these spells.

Yes it cost that Cleric 10.5 plat everytime they cast Temp. Assuming they have Cha over 105 ish, which they all seem to never have.

I just want to agree with the druid who said he/she became a better druid after they nerfed KEI . . . I, too, was a Kei addict at level 30 or so when it was nerfed. Mana Management at that late date is a hard lesson. LOL, but a good lesson nonetheless.

As for temp/virtue question - this lowly druid of the 63rd season never started 'buying' it until recently when me and chanter friend solo dungeons and whatnot. Because Protection of Cabbage/Glades gives mana regen -- sometimes in those dark dungeons as we sit medding - beaten down, manaless and glancing over our shoulders with baited breath for that deadly wanderer - I click off the virtue and cast potc.

Have relied on my own buffs mainly as I solo alot, but mmmm Kei be sweet. I usually donate 20-40 pp, the 40 for extended. (note: asked around about donation for kei on my server and 20 seemed to be the going rate.) Virtue, I donate at least 20, sometimes 25 when I'm feeling generous.

And let's not get into the sow-beggers who follow druids around like mosquitoes in a swamp - I'm always happy to toss a sow/soe on anyone and I do it for free. I merely laugh at those who feel the need to donate, cause altho they just can't live without it - they value it at, like, 2 pp.

Hmmm. . . then there's the porting question. . . what do you say to the level 50+ who screams for a port to Stonebrunt, shows up with 3 other passengers, demands sow or soe, then tries to pay you 5 pp after you get there? I usually say, "S'okay, hunny, keep the plat, you might need a rez. . ."
