Maraudon is a cave system in the Valley of Spears, found to the north east of Shadowprey Village in Desolace. This instance is a combination ancient centaur burial ground and primal temple for the elemental earth.
Initially added in patch 1.2, this was the very first instance added after the release of World of Warcraft and is the first of only four 5-man instances to be added in a patch.

Haven't finished it yet but I am 45 rogue - done the first and second part (don't ask which colors been 2 months lol) Have done it at least 3 times with myself being the lowest and we usually get through with the highest as a 52-53 with hard parts and easy parts.
Usually run like this
Rogue
Warrior / Feral Druid
Priest
Paladin
Shaman
Hunter
Not a bad group and got some decent drops
Overall not a bad place to go for fun and/or drops
Thank you for the guide, but i freakin' noticed that once again no1 mentioned to take a hunter along.
What is wrong with you people?! All the pulling is for hunters and most of the agility gear is made for hunter/rogue.

call me crazy, but it says hunter right there. also, im a hunter, and i dont make myself the exclusive puller in instances below brd.. really a warrior pulling in mara will do just fine, and its usually better at this level anyways because most people dont know how to let the warrior build aggro, and when the warrior pulls he gets somewhat of a head start on building up hate.

ty for the answers...
That's one of the reasons why warlock and priest/paladin is very handy there .. especially when you use the Scepter to enter, and part of your party dies.
Definately need a good group if you want to clear out of here fast.

Just wondering what level would be good to go there, i seemed fine fighting there, i took on 2 nonelites at a tiem and one basalisk elite outside the instance.
Al i want is the gnome shield drop and the stonefist mace, those will replace my SM Shield/Mace mix that i grabbed at 37
48+ if ur like a shaman or druid
47+ if ur healer( dun really care, at least they heal alot)
i'm lvl 50 rogue and i'm waiting 2 lvl52 2 go there, i aggro pritty much coz i really luv explorin instances ^^ gonna hav ta type dis : 马拉顿 -4 = =

Very hard fights are those where you may get blue items your level.
Since the drops in Maraudon are level 46-49 thats about the level your group needs. If you want to do the whole instance you should have a group of chars at level 48 at least so you have all the newest spells.
It was an intense battle, both the druid and the hunter died, but the rest of the party including me survived. It was an intense job as healer trying to keep the group alive. I have 3k mana and I was constantly running out, but I managed to keep 3 out of 5 alive, in that intense fight. I had only just healed our warlock just in time so that he didn't die, and my mana was extremely low. I had to resort to using all my very useful discipline-based spells such as Inner Focus and I did use Desperate Prayer to keep myself alive (I'm a dwarf priest). Frost Nova came in very handy from the mage. She managed to keep me alive and get the aggro off of me, as as she and the lock started casting their spells on that particular rock elemental.
Our entire group was surprised even I managed to survive along with the other 2. Being out of mana, and being able to keep 3/5 people in the group alive with an odd 8 or 9 or so rock elementals fighting us was quite a feat. We did not go on to anything much further than that apart from the giants. Our group didn't believe we could do Princess or anything much harder than those rock elementals. We had a big job trying to stay alive, and so my advice is, if you're around lvl 39/40, get some mid to high 50's to combat Mara (even a 60 if you can) and I believe it would certainly be possible.
Sorry about the long post but I hope it has given some insight into those wanting to do Mara early (I wanted most of the cloth drops, so that I could improve my char and work towards getting my mount quickly). There is still a fair amount of aggro around those lvls - until you hit around 48 or so, you would need a high lvl tank to help you in Mara. I hope this helps!
