The Scarlet Monastery is one of four strongholds of the Scarlet Crusade, the others being the Scarlet Bastion in the ruins of Stratholme and the towns of Hearthglen and Tyr's Hand. Found in Tirisfal Glades, the Scarlet Monastery was once a cathedral to the Light, now taken over by the fanatical zealots of the Crusade. The Monastery can be found northeast of the Undercity.

The Scarlet Monastery is a series of four instanced areas for both Horde and Alliance players within the heart of the Monastery. The Monastery is made up of four instance wings, loosely tied in to each other.
The Armory wing, which is the second entrance from the right, is challenging. There are many humanoids guarding the path to the Scarlet Champion, Herod, and mistakes here will result in wipes. Mobs here run for help when low health and you will also need the Scarlet Key to gain access to Herod's chamber.
The second entrance on the left leads to the Cathedral, a challenging instance. The reason being that both the path and the inside of the Cathedral must be cleared. Runners tend to pull other mob groups close by and many of these are casters. Once inside the cathedral and before engaging the final two bosses, players must clear out all of the mobs on both sides and the middle section, as these will come to the aid of the bosses and wipe the group. You will need the Scarlet Key, obtained in the Library, to open the Cathedral door.
The graveyard is an optional area in the overall instance so a lot of groups tend to skip over it. However, there are several nice items from a few rare spawns found in here. They don't appear in every run, which is why most players skip this area.
Before players can enter either the Cathedral or the Armory, they will need to fight through the Library. The boss of this section, Arcanist Doan, holds the Scarlet Key. This key is the item players will need for the next two wings.

The only problem was the cathedral...we literally just opened the doors to it and ended up aggroing 4 scarlets. Fuuuuuuu. I don't think the cathedral is not doable with two people unless they're near or over 40.
i got ironspines ribcage which was great and every thing else was crap
Went GY and Libary through without dying. In Armory Herod finally got me, but I was unprepared for his immunities and wasted great deal of mana. Made mistakes too (forgot about Divine Shield, drunk health instead of mana, etc). Got him down to ~500, so it was still extremely close.
Would call GY easy at that level as groups are non-elites and can be consecrated in 2 casts (+ Retribution Aura damage). Torturers are low lvl and in small groups, so easy too. And c'mon - except these are all undead!!!
In Library and Armory CC comes into play. Repentance might be the best CC spell of all classes and during this 1 minute time, it gives, it is easy to take down 1 or 2 attackers. There is even no need for long pulls, cause there will be no runners! Hammer of wrath may not be enough for stoping them (had 3 runs in these 3 subinstances), but they will not run far on consecrated ground. While lvl 45 pala should and can take down 3 or 4 this level mobs, things get messy and potions may be needed if more than 3.
Another good fight was Houndmaster. Especially because he is immune to mind controll, whitch i did not expect. So I got to fight him with all of his pets.
Edit:
Got Herod couple of days later on same level.

Wait to do it with a group, much, much more fun.
Come now, HOW do you get to level 58 without entering an instance?

Armory group was likely the most interesting, though.
The only people that stuck through the whole thing were me (a 33 rogue) and a 35 lock. The easiest part of this was using the rogue to sap one target, then having the lock and the eventual hunter's pets take another target and then having a third target pulled by the hunter. Worked out most of the time, until we finally wiped later on in the instance and had to get everyone to fight through all over again. Not to mention when my dagger broke. :( That wasn't too fun.
The graveyard was definitely fun, though. Went in tonight with a 31 lock (myself), a 32-33 lock (they leveled mid-instance), a 46 druid, a 36 pally and a 34 hunter. We got through the instance in probably about 30-45 minutes, surprisingly. And one mageweave cloth drop throughout was pretty nice, too. :D

At levels 40+, with your mount, you can go to WPL and try the run, hoping not to get killed by all the monsters above level 50... but this is my favorite route because it gets kind of scary :D
Who's there?
Go F*ck yourself.

So long as you pull intelligently and focus on one enemy at a time, there is no reason to have to fight more than 3 mobs at a time anywhere in the instance. Just make sure any runners are stunned/slowed/killed before they can draw a link.
We did die once on the last bosses when a patroling chaplain popped and joined in, but after we had died, returned, and taken out the offending mob the bosses fell quite easily. I tanked both bosses and we both attacked the dude first, despite the woman healing him, because he does WAY more damage than her, and she ran out of mana after she had healed him twice + cast a few offensives. As soon as the bloke died, the woman was meat.
One tip: You can bandage yourself pretty nice immediately after you wake up if you killed the dude far away from the altar, and then fought the woman where she runs from, coz she has to run to his corpse when she res's him. Your gonna need that mp...
Another tip: if you are duoing you just need a good tank and healer. Just make sure your healer watches their MP for the last fight.
Last tip: You can run thru the fountain and get minimal aggro if you are over 40. We got to the cath having only killed about 9 mobs.
Really last tip: Be extra carful when first pulling mobs out of the cathederal pull them at least past the bottom of the stairs, coz if one runner goes in, easily 5 or 6 could come out.

Chests
If you're wanting to make quick runs for guaranteed greens, and aren't looking for anything in particular, there are 5 static chests. 2 in the GY, 1 in the Armory and 2 in the Library. No chests in the Cathedral.
Chest loots:
Named / Bosses
Generally BOP, although the Interrogator has been kind enough to drop several greens and even a blue for me; however, this took repeated killings.
Rares
Again, generally BOP, but other items are in their loot table. If you're looking to do a quick ML to a lower level toon, or just want to whack the rares for the lower level they are in the GY only. Ironspine, Ashzir the Sleepless and Fallen Champion. I have found four spawn points for them myself.
Any of the rares can spawn in any of those areas. There should be two other spawn points from what I've read, but I haven't had spawns in those areas yet. If they aren't up the first run through and you're going to do the other sections of SM as well, go ahead and kill the place holders, run the other sections and come back, there will be respawns and one may be the rare. The other way is to reset the zone. Respawn for me took 17 min 44 seconds when I used CT's timer mod.
Herbs
Cloth
Silk is the dominant cloth in this zone. Wool can be had, but less frequently. Mageweave can also be had; however, rarely. If I had to venture a guess at the rates I'd say 90% silk, 9% wool and 1% mageweave. Mobs drop between 1 and 4 pieces of silk, I haven't paid attention to wool or mageweave due to the rarity and I lack a need for either. A sampling: GY completely cleared yielded 3 stacks of silk, 5 pieces of wool and 1 piece of mageweave so pretty close to my percentages guess.
Mobs - Least difficult to most difficult
Since this is a farming guide I did not touch on very many of the bosses since they drop mainly BOP items. I also skip most detail about the Armory and Cathedral because I haven't farmed the mobs, only the herbs and chests thus far. I'm twinking my baby rogue (lvl 27) through SM so the GY is my farm spot atm. Wait, a rogue with a rogue alt?! WTF?! What can I say, I enjoy the class. =p Besides that, I need a miner / skinner and I already know the rogue class and have helped several friends level their own rogues so it was the logical choice, I can zip through the levels quickly. =D Seriously, though, if twinking or catering to the high 20s to low 30s, SM is a great zone. Greens drop like candy, cloth is free flowing for that first aid and other tradeskills, and there's no competition for mobs so you can farm in peace.

Faxless [link=removed by admin]PayDay Loans to $1000 with no credit checks!
But got a question for all of you.. Havent tryed this gravyard yet because I havent got a reason yet.. you think I could solo it? 46 pally, with lots of experience with playing solo.. I want to know if there is a good reason for gold grinding this place.. gravyard it is..
Library:
1.) 3 hounds + houndmaster, 4 man fight.
2.) Can only sap humanoids, houndmaster is immune.
3.) Druid can't snare inside of caves/buildings.
4.) Mages don't use totems.
Armory:
1.) Back off Herod when he shouts "blades of light" and spins in circles.
Cathedral:
1.) Kill Morgaine (the guy) then let his wife res him. DO NOT WASTE MANA ON ATTACKING HER. Let the warriors, feral druids, and rogues attack her. She will deep sleep everyone, run over to him, res him, then heal to full. Your main tank works best at level 39 or higher, they are both level 42+
Thanks for forgetting graveyard, which has awesome drops for leatherwearers... and how is this a gold grind guide? ;)
Graveyard is 32+, Library is 34+, Armory is 36+, Cathedral is 38+. Priests can do these 1-2 levels below that. Graveyard isn't popular due to lack of quests (but, if there is a group forming for it, is well worth it).

The first reply is only helpful to some. No thank you.
How hard is it to actually say "it's here or there" rather than just giving a set of numbers?
Could a couple of decently equiped lvl 40s handle this?
Final mobs crazy tough and any tricks to fight them?
You must kill Mograine for her to come forth.
Then she sleeps every1 (can't be resisted) and resses mograine. (You cant kill her before she does this so no difference)
When she resses mograine, you better kill her first, since she heals mograine otherwise, making it a harder fight.
Balnazzar: level 70 Night Elf Druid
this is true, I've been in a group that killed her too quick as well
It must be some kind of bug you got there. Maybe, do not know..
have fun playing around
Leeshin, Aggramar
yeah! I'll make you believe in God, bitch!
NOTE: U DO NOT kill her first...if u kill her you will only get the drops from her and not mograine but if u let her rez then u get both bosses to drop...i was once partied with 4 others and did kill her first then we killed mograine and he didnt drop so we had to reset the instance.

I was 36 at beggining of instance and was pulling aggro from quite a distance but there was no problem.
We flew by Library, and Armoury, and only got a bit hard in the Chapel.
There the enemys are 39-40 Elites and thankfully I was 37 by the time or they would resist alot.
The most important part is NOT LET THE WOUNDED GO AND GET FRIENDS or things can get ugly realy fast.
Pulls are 2-3's unless you got with you a Mage/Rogue and you poly/sap like hell an makes tha game easier cause the enelys fall realy fast.
I found very usefull casting curse of tougns to spellcasters and although that pisses them off and you draw aggro make you life much easier.
2 q's here [40] In the name of light and [38]Mythology of the titans.
First 1 stats from the basement of the cathedral in SW and you are send to find brother Anton in Desolace, at Nijes point ( or something like that ), that area is when you enter Desolace from the North turn left and keep walking til you find a small path on your left hand side, there is also a FP there, get it.
Anton will send you to kill 30 undead, they are located in the bottom of the map to your left hand side ( as you are going down from the North ), they are 38 lvl so not too hard, ( I soled them with the VW as help quite easily ).
After that get back to him and he will give you a letter to five it to a dude ( soz cant remember his name ) in Southsore, this dude can be found upstairs in the Inn in the middle of the 3 rooms, he will give you the q to kill 4 guys in SM and give you the reward.
The 2nd q its just picked up from IF in the explorers hall from a guy and just wants you to retrieve for him a book "The mythology of the Titans", this book can be found in the Library instance and keep an eye for it cause its not all teh time on the same place, I found it in one of the benches full of books. You can interact with it and take it.
Thats it for the 2 q's and all I can sy is that the instance had GREAT drops for cloth users.
Dont know if you can solo the place with 2 40's I wouldnt think so maybe the library, not the rest. Especialy becauase or the multiple pulls in some places, and the fact they every one of them runs to get company.

The scarlet key drops from the instance on the right (the one you can just walk through, without having to open a door).
I completed Scarlet Monastery (all instances) very easily at lvl42, was partied with two lvl 44 guys and two lvl 38 guys.
One little secret you might not know about, at the end of the Catherdral instance, if you go to the right corridor in the monastery bit itself and go into the room there, there is a torch which can be interacted with. This leads to an undead elite, nothing too difficult and he dropped 3 decent green items.
Erupalp
http://www.koaworld.com/html/wow/locations.php?l=Scarlet_Monastery
To summarize, there are 3 zones to this place. From easiest to hardest; Library, Armory, Cathedral. They are each its own instance, so you can pick whichever one you want to do. They're not amazingly long, like Deadmines was the first time you did it, but they're not easy either. A couple of smart Lv40s could definitely make it to Doan in the Library... provided you have some sort of crowd control like Sap or Poly. But I don't recommend taking on Doan at 40 with only 2 people. He has some nasty moves and he's a 37 elite, meant for a group of 35s, not only 2 40s... although you can resist his nova at higher levels, I heard.
Armory and Cathedral are considerably harder, but the loot is a lot nicer, tho you cannot duo those 2 instances.
1 question, anyone else notice the lack of chests in cathedral, ive yet to see 1?
