Hellfire Peninsula is a zone of Outland and one of the surviving parts of Draenor. It contains The Dark Portal and is such the first experience of Outland for most players. The zone is a barren wasteland, the ground thick with the shattered bones of countless Draenei slaughtered by blood crazed Orcs. Hellfire Peninsula contains the first of many zone wide world PVP related bonuses, Hellfire Superiority, which gives a bonus of +5% to damage.

World PvP

There are three PvP objectives, which are the ruined forts of Broken Hill, The Overlook and The Stadium. They are placed in the region just to the west of Hellfire Citadel. In order to flag a fort, players must be non-stealthed and the fort needs to either be flagged by opposing faction or unflagged.

Hellfire Fortifications

The faction with the most flagged characters within the objectives vicinity will slowly gain ownership of the point. When all three points are controlled by one side, they gain a zone-wide bonus of +5% Damage, applicable even within the Hellfire Citadel instances, called the Hellfire Superiority.

In addition, any opposing players killed while fighting for the objectives will grant the killing player (and group, if any) with a token, called a Mark of Honor Hold for the Alliance or a Mark of Thrallmar for Horde players. Much like Halaa in Nagrand, grouping up for this is highly encouraged as only the party with the killing blow gets a token.

In addition, there is a repeatable quest, called Hellfire Fortifications, that awards an additional 150 reputation points for either Honor Hold or Thrallmar, as well as 3 tokens. This quest requires that each point be captured once and cannot be completed in a raid. The quest can only be completed once per day.
