Objectives

Mataus the Wrathcaster at Light's Hope Chapel in the Eastern Plaguelands wants 10 Insignia of the Crusade and 30 gold.

Description

A creation of genius! Much like the Ice Guard, the Shadow Guard employs a thin sheen of protective magic that covers certain pieces of equipment. And like the Ice Guard, the Shadow Guard is going to cost you a good amount of money.

Considering the cost for the turnins to get the insignia and the 30 gold, this quest is sh*tty for its costs. At level 40 you can get this formula as an enchanter http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=11098, or buy the regeants, which cost way less and give the same amount of resistance. Although I realize you can add this to other inventory slots, and Shadow Resist/Frost Resist are needed for Naxx, but it still seems like a real waste of money for anyone not doing Naxx. Blizzard needs to nerf the enchant or nerf this item's cost.

HEAD and CHEST slot.

That enchants a cloak.

All told, with all 3, you can add 30 Shadow Resistance to your gear.

As for Waste of money. 5 To a resist costs 9g AFTER griding to Revered with AD and AFTER turning in 10 Valor tokens (200 or 100 or 10 of the scourgestones depending on the type you turn in to get a token).

So this? If you're going for Revered, you can easily get the stuff for this and if you're going for exalted, you'll more than triple what they want.

Personally, I don't have a problem collecting bone chips and 30 bonechips = 1 of the tokens. 300 bonechips to get +10 shadow resist isn't bad. You can buy them in AH if you don't want to spend the time farming them yourself.
