Soloed him as lvl 42 with my 34 NE Druid. Not set up for tank, had to DPS in cat form. Really wish druids had more buffs. Sneak attack from behind failed he saw me coming easy, just hit over and over with Claw and Rake (Rip whenever full combo points) heal spells, back to cat form and start again. Rinse and repeat. Took a while. Had to heal and transform again about 6 or 8 times, but got him eventually.
If anyone else tries to take him on so outclassed, make sure you heal early and often, and don't bother with too many offensive spells, around 90% of mine missed and I kept dying before i decided to stick with cat form and save my mana for healing.

Solo'd as 41 Hunter.

Was a hard fight, but a 37 Mage(me) and a 35 Hunter Duoed him at lvl 43 elite. between concussion shots and Frost Novas, he was slowed most of the time. Hunter pet died and hunter grabbed aggro away from me and ended up kiting him while I blasted away. Depleted mana, used Evocation and mana pot. basic stuff.

Be very wary of the fact that Tethis has a tendancy to move, so keep you eyes open for any different colored raptors. I found him slightly South of the circles, but that was after spending about 3/4 of an hour searching for him.

I'm a 38 lock, I soloed it down to like 10 % health, a ?? horde rogue comes up from behind me and 1 shots me...man what a good day I'm having.

I found him at 31,40

soloed today with my lvl 42 priest (shadow) no damage received only half my mana used. shadow word pain mind blast mind flay, mind flay etc, etc.

found at 31,40 was looking for ages...

I solo'd this dude as a 43 troll hunter and my pet echeyakee
I was clearing the area and he linked to another raptor before it was dead so it sucked ass in the beginning
Anyway, needless to say, tethis took out my pet fairly quickly and by that time he was at 900/4500 health. As we all know, hunters are not known for their melee skills and I was literally one hit away from dying and I got a lucky raptor strike in and he went down and I almost had a heart attack^^
Bottom line, if your like me and want to get King Bangalesh as a pet, then you do what you got to do. However, if you arent a tank, you will probably die if you are not at least 43

just soloed him on my well-equipped 39 priest (it's all about your manapool) using a smaller exploit but no special priest skills or abilities. you could also wand him if you wanted but that'd take AGES.

look at this screen and be amazed by my paint skills:

go find that cove (it's right to the west of Tethis' spawn location)
cast ONLY when you stand on one of the casting spots, otherwise he will evade your attacks.
when he gets close just run over to the other casting spot (Levitate helps)
rinse
repeat.

you can do that without being hit a single time.

Given that he is elite but not a rare, he should respawn often. That should be true since he is the end boss for the Raptor Mastery quest, and it needs to respawn regularly so people can do the quest.

He gets no bonuses since the pet speed normalization (and no raptor gets any speed bonuses despiter what some people have claimed post-nerf).

Just solo'd Tethis as a 41 Paladin took like 3 minutes or so to do just kept hitting him healed myself when needed and used the stuns whenever I could.

is this guy tameable?

This raptor has an attack speed of 2.0. my level 49 Tethis does 86-105 after aspect of hawk and trushot aura with a dps of 56. pretty impressive. He can also take quite a beatin for ya. His initial attack speed seems screwed up as in really slow sometimes though. Have no idea why, but it is worth it for this guy. I can't wait to see what he does at higher levels. I think he is better than the cats and perhaps the best pet to own in the game.(especially if you like to solo alot like me.) If you catch him for a pet, you'll be happy. :)
