For those high levels like me silly enough to kill him the first go round, his respawn is currently 5 minutes :)

soloed this thing as 70 MS war like feldeeds though couldnt pummel cause was lagging -.- ..and didnt bother bandageing anyway ...punk didnt drop anything ...

Soloed as 70 MS Warrior, just have to make sure and pummel when he begins to flame. Also if you jump off the edge, he has to go down to the water the way you came up, plenty of time to bandage....Dropped absolutely nothing...

soloed as a 70 tauren feral drdui finished him with fero bite and i was max health didnt use any health cept frenzied regeneration to be full hp lol otherwise i would finished to 10k hp quite easy

He has 30k health, about double of those elite demons in winterspring.

He is ABOUT the same as them, because they both hit for 700 (ABOUT!).




An important thing to note is you must put [Unforged seal of ascension] NEAR him when he is under 20% health. When he gets between 6-10% health, use [Orb of Draconic energy] on him (you should see an emote first, if you are within range. If not, just guess and use it, should work.)

Now he is mind controlled (for 45 seconds to 1 minute) , you WILL see a pet action bar. Walk him to the [Unforged seal of ascension], so that he is FACING towards it.

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A [Unforged seal of ascension] DOWN OR ELSE!!

Use the far left spell, I forget the name, but it looks like a [sulfuron ingot] and the mage spell combustion.

IF YOU FAIL, YOU ARE A @#%^TARD AND IT HAS A 3 HOUR COOLDOWN, NICE GOING DUMBASS. If not, nice job! pick it up.

Edit: I did this as a 60 tauren balance druid. I started off using starfire + moonfire combo. When he got closer, I used Hibernate. Starfire again until he was out of the cave, at which point I entangling rooted. A chinese farmer was farming the dragons (no longer elite) so I didn't have to worry about those, but when 4 respawned, i killed them with ease, while Emberstrife was rooted.
The fight took 7 minutes to get him to 8% health, used innervate at the very beginning and towards the end.

Killed does NOT have a drop, but skins for a [Black Dragonscale].




IMPORTANT: Unless you have are a hunter who's kiting, a druid who's rooting, or a warlock who's fearing (watch out, fear WILL aggro the little dragons), you WILL have an impossibly hard time doing this solo.

I tried it as the previous druid suggested and kept dying in the cave until I realised that the DOT from my Moonfire was breaking the Hibernate everytime.

My suggestion for druids is Starfire & Hibernate and just stay in the cave. No risk of agroing adds, and just slowly walk Emberstrife around the room. Easy as pie, although it did take a good 20-25 minutes.

Remember to keep Faerie Fire up and it doesn't break Hibernate, so do it when you please. Innervated once, just cause I couldn't wait for my mana to regen, but easy if you are patient.

Solo'd easily as a 60 Druid... used hybernate and moonfire to get him out of cave then moonfire and entangling roots till his will faltered..threw down my unforged seal when his will faltered at 8% or so...used the draconic orb and charmed him..breathed flame of the black dragonflight on the unforged seal.. then finished him off and grabbed my forged seal. And Im feral spec'd so if I can do it any druid should be fine..had to Innervate once.

Took him down in just a few minutes. Lvl 60 Frost mage with mostly tier 0 armor.

As RaistlinMajer said, you have to kite him in a circle throughout his cave. When you start, position yourself in the water just to the right of his platform. Make sure you can reach the bottom of his ramp with one of your Frostbolts, so you can keep hitting him as he's trying to get to you. Keep wailing away with rank 10 Frostbolt until he's fairly near but don't let him get close enough to hit you as he'll take you down pretty fast.

Then you're going to kite him in a clockwise direction around his cave. Use a lvl 1 frostbolt to keep him slow and to hold aggro while you kite him around in a big circle through his cave. Don't run for more than maybe 3-4 seconds before casting again. (Lvl 1 Frostbolt will likely not dmg him, it's just to keep him off you) When blink is up and/or when you're a decent distance, throw a couple of rank 10 Frostbolts on him. During the entire time you're kiting, watch his portrait to see if Frostbite has proc'ed, and if so immediately start casting lvl 10 Frostbolts until he breaks again. Then go back to kiting.

After you've made a complete circle and are back at his platform, go up it and Frost nova him in the spot where he started. (Again, you don't want to stand next to him for long) Then jump down to the spot you started attacking him in the first place and rinse and repeat from the top.

Doing it this way I had him down about 35-40% each lap around his cave. I did it twice (as I got so caught up with killing him the first time I forgot to forge the seal :-/ ) and on the 2nd time he hit me once the entire time and I only had to make 2 1/2 laps. (roughly 10 min fight)

Some tips...
- If he gets too close, don't panic, just frost nova, get some distance, and proceed with kiting.
- Bring bandages with you and make sure evo is up, in the event that the fight runs longer than expected. A major health/mana pot or two wouldn't hurt.
- Be generous with the lvl 1 Frost bolts if you want to be safe. They're 25 mana, which you'll regen before you cast the next one if you have Mage Armor on.
- If you're more daring (or just impatient), use Frost Nova when it's up, blink, and use your lvl 10 Frost bolts. Kite when he breaks free.

i kited him almost to camp taurajo but he was pretty much dead so i just killed him on the spot...i did this with myself http://img164.imageshack.us/img164/8232/wow9py.jpg

You can solo this as a mage, is hard and takes a long time, but it can be done. Just circle the plateu his at, when you jump it he will go all the way around, then use frost nova and if needed cone of cold (thats the dangerous part) and do not stop to damage use fire blast. I admit I didn't solo it, had a 60 pala to help, but he was dead 80% of the time, and really wasn't needed. (By the way this was in his level 61 form)

Anyone doing the UBRS key quest I'll explain what to do against Emberstrife.
Take a party of 4 or 5 with a tank and healer. You'll need to take him down to 10% for his will to falter.
When his will falters you place the unforged seal of ascension on the ground then target Emberstrife and use the orb of draconic energy.
When you are in control of him you get 4 new buttons in the bottom left of your screen above your toolbar. You need to face the unforged seal and click on the 2 buttons that make him breath fire.
Then you right click on the forged seal and pick it up.
