Okay, this may only have occured to me seeing as my main is a 44 BM hunter (that's right, I'm a n00b, I've never hit 60 ever) but, the icon of this staff is identical, and the name is quite similar, to Emberstone Staff, possibly the most popular alli mage (lemme rephrase that, caster) weapon going from 18 to 25 when some get Rod of the Sleepwalker, and some even have it until Illusionary Rod at 34. But I'm rambling. My point? Similarities are all too cruel. Makes me wish I would've stuck with my mage.

Good upgrade from the staff of shadow flame and a decent alternative to a wraith blade combo. Not the best, but isn't exactly hard to obtain (atleast not as hard as better alternatives :p).

If by "proper" you mean Sapphiron's Left Eye, then yes, Wraith Blade combo is better though a lot harder to obtain.

Like it or not, raiding guilds that actually killed Loatheb give mages and locks preference over healers for this staff. Of course if you're a PvPing priest or druid, you'd love this ... but then again you probably won't be in a guild killing Loatheb if you;re into PvP that much.

As a Qiraji staff user, all I would be gaining from this is 40 damage, therefore I would prefer to go for a Wraith combo as it would be an all round improvement.

Dude, when this staff has an imp standing on the top of it spamming shadowbolts and curse of agony, and has a chance to give you an instant soulfire on hit, THEN you can tell me its got warlock written all over it.

Yeah, sure, our mounts are on fire and whoooshhh skulls/bones/evilness is our bag, but have you SEEN our Tier 3? o.o When sh*t's exploding with random squiggly tentacles and colored like the rainbow...XD THEN YOU TELL ME ITS GOT WARLOCK WRITTEN ALL OVER IT.

Kidding.

But yeah, sorry eiricco. We know its not just a warlock item. I mean, EVERY caster needs stam and intell, extra kick to +Dps and healing, and chance to hit/crit.
