Becouse the drops that drop in the raid should FIRST be given to the class that benefits the most from to ASSIST the raid.
First you need to make your raid better to conquer higher bosses after that comes the individual aspect of the game in therms of grinding pvping etc, but you need to make your raid stronger before you do that.
But today I got this ring becouse noone needed it, nice for those days in AV and grinding :-).
gived 10dkp is it expensive or cheap?
(was my guilds first run and all have 10dkp)
Therefore, if it says +dmg/healing, it goes to a dmg caster, not a healer. Healers can't have a monopoly on every caster ring just because it adds a minimal amount of healing, while there are rings specifically made for healing with a much greater bonus because it only adds to healing.
Don't even get me started on balance druids and shadow mages in raids..
In my opinion, a smart moonkin or shadow priest knows when to do damage and when to heal. burning down the trash mobs to get to the boss can be tedious, and the less time it takes, the faster you get to the boss... which means more bosses a night, more loot, and more for everyone. As long as, if you need the healing, the shadow priest or moonkin or feral druid or even paladin stops DPS and heals whoever needs it, or whoever they're assigned to... there's no problem.
So I don't see what's so wrong about gearing up your druids and your priests the way they want to be geared, as long as the primary casters, warlocks and mages, get priority on truly clear cut items. For example, my guild gave Robe of Volatile Power (all damage and no int) to a priest the other night because no mages really wanted it badly enough to spend DKP.
Shadow Priest - Phantom Elite, Spinebreaker

I'm actually still 59 and a balance druid. My guild had been taking me on runs because they were short on healers, since 58 and I do a pretty good job offhealing even in high 50 blues, so I don't feel like I'm taking up a spot. However, what I really want is to learn how to do dps in a raid and add my Moonkin aura to mages. I feel that this ring and some more gear like it will really help me justify it.
We found this on the bat boss. I would feel a little guilty if we didn't run this instance like every other night. But I intend to be able to use all of the stats on this item for different parts of raids.
I have both this ring and Zanzil's seal
Both are pretty neat items... but somehow Zanzil's seal seems more appealing with the slightly highter stats on stam + int and the +1% crit chance...
On the other hand the higher dmg + healing would benefit me more in overall dmg for the entire raid...
Any (useful) advice would be very welcome

the damage on the band of servitude is probably a little better than zanzil's seal. +1% spell hit is about the same as +1% damage. the difference in spell damage on these items is 12. +12 spell damage gives +10 damage to shadowbolt, so if your shadowbolts are hitting for more than 1000 go with zanzil's because +1% damage will make a bigger difference.
if it were +crit instead of +hit then it would be different. +crit = +1% damage if you have ruin. otherwise +1% crit is only +0.5% damage. also, corruption and other spells cannot crit. in general, +spell hit and +spell damage are the best stats for warlocks.
standard spell hit chance (60lv vs 60lv) is 96%.
it means "more 4%" is priceless against 60lv players.
generally, spell hit has more advantage in raid.
(of course, it available in comparison with spell crit.)
because raid mob lv is above 60.
Now pick your jaws up off the floor...I dont actually believe this. I think anyone who casts a damn spell has an equal right to this ring and this arguement was spawned by petty selfish little kids who cant share their toys.

Ring #1:
Band of Piety
10 stam
10 int
4 mana per 5 seconds
+22 healing
Its better in every damn way for healing (except for -1 +healing, big whoop)
Ring #2
Fordring's Seal
http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=16058
5 stam
4 int
+37 healing
Way better +healing, less stats.
Also the Primalist set together blows Servitude out of the water for healing. Check my profile btw, I have a priest too. =P
I say again, this is a ring for +dmg not for +healing. Don't think otherwise.
Malentra> Just make sure that if its going to them for those reasons and not as a "healing ring".
Jinxen> There are much better rings for healers, that are non-epic.(PVEish)
Guitarfreeak> came second in the roll to a priest who passed it to me eventually after heated discussion agreeing that it was better for a mage then a priest
Kapteinin> first ring a priest won and the other a druid. ther are much bether healing rings for both classes.. so this IS a mage / warlock ring and not a druid / priest.. learn to take stuff for your class and not pvp
FairyNice> should be lock/mage only, can get green of the healing boe's that do more healing
Inphidel>Dps casters classes should ofcourse get priority over healers on this item. I always assumed everyone with a bit of common sence would agree to that, shame this game lacks players with common sence.
Goldenvince> My guess is that if the nuker has no better ring , then he should get it over a healer. It's common sense , unless the Priest is Shadow specced or something like that.
Mobywan> A druid rolled on it, some mages as well and said this was better for healing with the other blue healing ring which is ofc nonsense cause the bonus gives another +healing. Caster item, dont give this to healers or I shoot u.
I call BS on all of it. Show me a better pre-ZG ring for healers. And don't just go showing +int rings... because you can do that for mages/locks too. Show me better +healing rings.
Priests and healers go for +healing gear for the same reason that dps classes go for +damage gear. You do more bang-for-your-buck with your mana. They can combine that with mana regen for great effect.
Priests get the rub here from you people that think that they should sit down, shut up and heal. They have every right to play their class to the best of their abilities and to gear them as best they can. This ring is almost the best +healing ring available from ZG and before. There are 1-2 better (definitely not green) and not every priest will have both of these unique rings.
The damn healers keep you alive to do your +damage so for gods sake give them a fair shake at the +healing gear.
And I'm not talking about PVP or Shadow spec or damage. I'm talking about the best gear for a healing, raiding, PvE priest.
So I challenge every one of you I quoted to go out and find more than 1 or 2 +healing rings available before this ring. And as you do... and start to get frustrated trying to find one... keep in mind that every day healers are out there trying to do this for REAL with their toons and having to run up against bone-headed misconceptions from people that they should pass on the best gear available to them because they are healers and no other reason.
This is a fantastic ring. Grats for those of you (healers and dps) that get it.
Here they are, a whole set of +healing rings, including blues from Strat, UBRS, etc. that are much easier to get than this +dmg ring. Many of them are PLUS HEALING only and would never be rolled on by any DPS casters. Most are BETTER in terms of bonuses than the "Ring of Servitude".
The ring of servitude is definitely a DPS caster ring. Get yourself a better +healing ring and quit trying to snake DPS items as a "PVE raiding Priest".
Sure, you can roll on this ring as a healer, but only if all the DPS casters pass.

ffs you do like my +3% crit aura, don't you? and you like when I crit over 1.7k without ToeP or any other trinket? but you don't like when I need something like this...
so STFU and l2p WoW bcause there is more then 2 caster classes!
btw: got the ring yesterday, got outrolled by a priest but the raid leader said then that it is a dps caster item (gotta love my guild) and no the healers weren't bitching about it, they know they role in the game.
Its like you can't come to terms with the fact that there are other players you have to share loot with.
BUT, I got this ring two days ago on my first ZG run in 4 months on my mage. (Mostly been running it on my priest) Then the next day I got Choker of the Fire Lord after 8 months of Rag. Yay!
( Other comp. where on use bye my Cousin that made ZG ) Well, I decided of making a PuG raid too ZG. First I got around 7 members very slowly after that I got 13 more In like 10 min.. After summons and buffs we we're ready.. We went too those kamikazebats we wiped twice! Well, that's a real bad start ..
We went backwards against Venoxis cleared a bit .. and we we're read too fight.
First we camed away and he had 3%hp left after wipe.. we camed back after rezz and so .. We slayed Venoxis easily with a living MT.. around 4 people died..
Ring dropped. ( Mage got it. )
Bloodrenched footpads. ( I got em' )
Then a.. yeah .. something epic can't remember..
We camed back slayed bats, Camed too High priestess Jedlik wiped twice at her.
Then we got a "Adrenaline rush" We fighted fighted and hardly fighted.. no misstakes "But" Unlucky at 1% (3,000hp) Mt was alive.
Ellessandra's execute was parried bye High priestess Jedlik.
Ellessandra's execute was parried bye High priestess Jedlik.
High priestess Jedlik crits Ellessandra for 3247 nature damage. ( or something )
Ellessandra dies.
Everyone cries after the third wipe .. again tommorow? Quzan: Yes, invites at 19:00. Good job guys.

Yes they're real. No, you won't be saying hi to them.
im my guild i mean everybody rolls on it couse we have need/greed.
first ring a priest won and the other a druid. ther are much bether healing rings for both classes.. so this IS a mage / warlock ring and not a druid / priest.. learn to take stuff for your class and not pvp
Our guild Druid wanted this and got it because he has 200 DKP (also because the five creators started off with an extra 150 dkp)
The pug Priest would have won it if he didn't lose the /roll.
@#%^ing hate this guild
-- peeved mage
dropped from the panther boss, same run the other now ring dropped from snake boss.. the one with 40 AP
Because priests aren't allowed to grind and pvp or what?
/golfclap
When the item has no class restriction it has NO class restriction.
kthxbye
100% agree. I won the roll for this with my Warrior, for my shield proc (linked). But our greedy raid leader rolled second highest (he's a Warlock) and said I couldn't have it. @#%^ing ninja. =\
http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=18168
Edit: Okay, I (re-)read your post and it's actually sensible - you acknowledge that the ring would be for PvP / grinding, and aren't trying to pass it off as useful on a healer during a raid. I do maintain that the quote is silly though. :)

-_-
Dps casters classes should ofcourse get priority over healers on this item.
Getting items for pvp/grinding should never have priority over equipping a dps class with items IF its an improvement for them.
I always assumed everyone with a bit of common sence would agree to that, shame this game lacks players with common sence.
ITS PURPLE!!! NEED PLX!!!!1
So the warlock who gets felheart robes AND robes of volatile power is perfectly fine? Warlocks and mages, and warriors, and hunters, and rogues, are always picking up items that are simply for PvP, so why not the healers?
Shadow Priest - Phantom Elite, Spinebreaker
Theorycrafer - Math is Delicious!
Now for this ring , I would feel bad if a healer and a nuker both wanted it.My guess is that if the nuker has no better ring , then he should get it over a healer. It's common sense , unless the Priest is Shadow specced or something like that. After all , we nukers don't get on your way when Cauterizing Band drops :ppp
A druid rolled on it, some mages as well and said this was better for healing with the other blue healing ring which is ofc nonsense cause the bonus gives another +healing.
Caster item, dont give this to healers or I shoot u.
