I'd say Ring of Blackrock is a little better.. 9mp5 vs 8, and 19damage and healing vs 15to healing only. The 10 stam and 13 intellect are decent, but in a long fight Blackrock is better, unless you take enough damage than you're down to your last 100 health and somehow miraculously live, that'd be the only time this ring would be better.

Comparing this gem to the Ring of Craprock is like comparing Bonereaver's Edge to Ashkandi.

First of all, many healers have specced +10% Int, which means that this Ring will grant you 14.3 x 15 = 215 Mana, so the mana reg calculation (pointless enough) is already flawed. Secondly, Int increases spell crit (29,5 Int = 1 SC as Pala). Thirdly, if you think that 100 HP are useless for healers, start visiting 40 man raid instances.

A series of quick calculations shows that the fight would have to be longer than 16 minutes and 15 seconds (13x15x5 seconds) in order for the mana given to you by Blackrock to surpass the overall mana you get from Devoured. This is merely a calculation of how long it would take 1 mana/5sec to give you enough mana equivalent to 13 Intellect. To my knowledge, there is no fight that lasts over 15 minutes. Losing 4 +healing is practically nothing, and you get 10 stam to soften the blow. I'm assuming in a fight longer than 15 mintues, more people than just the tank will be taking damage...

Absolutely good point. I suppose (since I like +damage) I was a little too swayed by the dual use of the ring of Black Rock, but this ring I have to admit is better for most raid healing fights. I stand corrected.

I clearly overvalued the +1mana5 without actually doing the math.

And yes, while I love +healing, +4 healing is irrelevant (my full +healing gear has a little over +800 for comparison).

Unfortunately, this ring is unreasonably hard to get.

It's one of the "special" epics on the loot-table of Lord Kri only, which basically means that you have to kill him last - and that's thrice-darned freaking hard.

Of course, that ring is worth doing it, but try to explain that to thirty-nine other people :X
