Right. Someone called it likely to "already" have 3 Transcendence pieces. Yes, most likely in fact.
BUT:
Do you really plan to always wear 3 Transcendence pieces? As long as your equipmentlevel is around T3, sure, it's probably the best choice (sadly). But what about BC? What about lvl 70? I don't want to wear the same stuff forever...
15 spirit out of combat = 9.375 mana/5 (8 :5 ratio). Out of combat 8 spirit is same as 5mana/5.
But when the brown stuff hits the whirling blades, is where spirit's usefullness drops off and mana/5 takes off. In combat, under the 5 second rule with Meditation5, you get 15% of your spirit regen. So multiply 9.375 by .15 you get 1.40 mana/5 during casting from 15 spirit. Now lets double that and call it 3 and assume you are wearing 3 trans along with your prophecy gloves, and are getting 30% regen. So now its 3mana/5. Now you're actually much closer, and are only losing 1mana/5.
So the only way these are not a significant upgrade from prophecy is if you are wearing prophecy gloves along with 3+ trans. Since when you're done farming Molten Core, fire resist is basically a non-issue (outside of Vael, and if you've beat that encounter you already have enough FR gear), these gloves are an upgrade of prophecy in all other encounters, but if you're wearing 3 trans along with either gloves, the upgrade is slight.
If you're getting these gloves, it is likely you already have 3-piece Transcendence (I don't know any guilds that can kill Huhuran and not clear BWL). Also, next patch I doubt ANY healing specced priest will not have meditation, so it's reasonable to assume 30% of mana regen in combat.
In that case:
(Assuming you spend 50% of a fight in 5-second rule, which is a rough average of my own playing, but is a reasonable assumption for most priests. Your assumption of being 100% of the time in 5-second rule is terribly unfair).
Your choice from there. Prophecy gloves can potentially grant you the 1.4 sec FH, which some priests may like to keep. If the priest has spiritual guidance, it's only +5 healing to be gained. If you compare the difficulty of getting loot from Huhuran to that of Gehennas, I still think Gloves of the Messiah are underpowered.

Warlock: Kamelie (EU Blackmoore)
+3 Stamina
+2 Intellect
** -15 Spirit **
- 7 FR
+8 healing
+4 mana/5
The huge loss of spirit means they're hardly an upgrade, imho.

15 spirit = (5/8)(0.5*0.3*15 + 0.5*15) = 6.1 mana/5
Prophecy gloves have an additional 6 mana /5 raising their total value to a priest in the previously described scenario to 12.1 mana/5.
Under this specific scenario, the comparison becomes:
+3 Stamina
+2 Intellect
- 7 FR
+8 healing
-2.1 mana/5
Your choice from there. Prophecy gloves can potentially grant you the 1.4 sec FH, which some priests may like to keep. If the priest has spiritual guidance, it's only +5 healing to be gained. Being a mana regen / Spirit Priest, these are awesome since Oracle does not have a hand slot item.
Cant wait for my server to finish the supplies.
