I got 8 of these fishing off the coast of Tanaris in about 15 minutes. Fished 5 of them out of floating wreckage, but got the 3 others from schools of balckmouth and firefin.

All in all, not bad for just trying to raise my fishing, but I did have higher hopes than one green that won't fetch anything special on the AH.

Fishing the wreckage is *very* worthwhile. I pulled 8 of these in under an hour, went back to the same spot the next day and pulled 10 more between 2 sessions. In my first run, I got 10 bolts of Mageweave, 4 bolts of Runecloth, 2 greens in the upper 30's, several superior healing potions... that and a couple patterns pulled from bottles on the beach. All in all, close to 20 gold worth of gear in a little less than an hour of fishing.

I fished the firefin and oily blackmouth schools, a stack of 20 goes for about a gold on the AH from people not interested in spending time fishing, and I pulled some trunks from the schools too. Also, Stonescale Eels fetch a few gold (I got 2 for a stack of 11) because they're more scarce.

I fished by BB as well, though if you're lower level you can find plenty of good fishing along the coast of Westfall (if you're alliance). Lower level loot from iron-bound trunks, but plenty of Blackmouths. At that level, you're happy for anything you can get. :p ;)

Don't ask me how, but this morning before I left for work, I thought I would do some fishing near the pirate compound close to Booty Bay. I saw a bunch of floating wreckage, so I slipped a shiny bauble onto my rod and cast away. On my first, second and third casts I pulled up a mithril bound trunk!

What are the odds? Anyway, did not have time to open them so I am looking forward to the surprises when I get home from work thise evening!

I love fishing!!! I had 20 gold coins at level 25 when I learned fishing, and now Im level 27, 150 fishing skill and 40 gold coins!!!! It will make me rich! I just love it... :P

i fished in tanaris all night the first day of 1.9 when i heard the new stuff was there. Heres what i saw. pools of red firefin snappers, floating wreckage, and pools of oily blackmouths (in that order of popularity, firefins were most popular, oily blackmouths were least popular, and wreckage was in the middle) You have a high chance of catching one of these in pools of fish, somewhere like 1 in 5 catches in a pool is a trunk. but in the wreckage, its like almost guranteed to be a trunk, or a Rumsey Rum black label. the wreckage also has a high chance of being stranglekelp.
