With Naxxaramas's enraged timer, this has becomes much more useful. Fights like Patchwerk, Faerlina are all relatively short and this trinket beats out Mindtap Talisman.

ok first off, balance druids = good dps, but not above shamans in my guild, im a full blue shaman, and i out-dps most of the rogues in the guild, in MC, on things like baron...
conclusion? elemental shamans can do AMAZING dps, if played correctly + has the right gear
This thing dropped for us last night in ZG. It has a 3 min cooldown. This item should be better imo. Maybe some added stats plus the use. A pally won it cuz his trinkets werent exactley up to date.

i'm a balnace druid on moonrunner in a guild that will... remain nameless due to the nature of this post, they won't let me roll on this becuase some bs site says it is good for a resto druid but not a balance druid, any comments? also balance uses spells mostly with +3% spell critical chance to party while in moonkin form. my take is spells= mana use= need for mana boosters and mana replenishment i mean hello!

Then either you or whomever your using as a frame of reference for Balance Druids needs to learn to heal. Ive been resto, feral and settled on balance and I do better healing as a balance then resto. My mana pool is larger and I crit heal more which more then makes up for the talents in resto that would be considered "beneficial" to my being able to heal more. Maybe you ought to stop playing by the wow book of raiding and think outside the box a bit.
I have a resto/enhance shaman friend that can outheal competent priests and resto druids, and still be a damned good PvPer, when it comes to healing, its not the class/build as much as it is the player.

the question is as long as its not unique so u can have more than 1 when u use it (if u have the second also^^) can u use it at the same time or when u use one the unused second one also has a 3min cooldown? tricky question this is :)
Well... why did they make it not-unique then? doesnt have much sense now, does it? If there is no use of having two of these, why can you wear two? did anyone actually tried having both?
The mindtap talisman indeed regens more mana, but the power of the eye is that it gives the mana in bigger bursts.
There's a difference between getting 360 mana in 30 seconds, and getting 396 mana in 3 minutes.
I'll gladly sacrifice that 36 less mana each 3 min for that. Also, it does not invoke the universal 1 second cooldown timer when you activate it, so you can instantly cast spells.

Short fights = this is much better!
Long fights = mindtap is a little better, not much.
So IMO this one is better overall

recovers 180 mana in 30 seconds. useable every 3 minute.
DM trinket is still superior over this:
