Minus a few stats, and minus that precious shadow resistance...but past that they are pretty comparable. The additional +healing definitely seems to balance out the 4 mana/5sec. Personally, I'd still take Cenarion since it has set bonuses as well, but these are a nice alternative until you get your Cenarion Spaulders.

Bear for not just for accidentally pulling aggro

The whole Animist "set" practically begs you to stop clicking those little leafy buttons and to tank. The Int and Spirt are there for if you accidentally turn into a caster. The atal'ai spaulders come in all different flavours, about the only two that I'd consider taking over these are Monkey or Defense.
If the drop rate on Animist's Spaulders has you down, consider solo farming for the Atal'ai thingers. guide here: http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=10783

They are damn good shoulders, better than Atal'ai ones simply because more armor and int/spirit. Sasnak has the "atal'ai of the bear" spaulders from ST for DPSing, but these are better for tanking.

silly n00b The ST ones are better for tanking... these are caster shoulders. but are good for emergency tanking when needed. but the ST ones are actually better for tanking. cause you need to be able to throw at least SOME DPS to keep aggro up.
now fo rearlier caster shoulders before ZG go for these http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=18528
those are good if you dont want to go with the wildheart ones. Im going wiht these cause i am resto specced now for endgame. but dont worry i tank REALLY good in caster gear. im over 7k armor (almost 8k) still. hehe along with a 150 DPS in bear form. tha tis the way to go.LMAO

No, the Atal'ai Spaulders have 193, as mentioned above.

By the way, do these have the same model as the Golden Mantle of the Dawn?

if you look at some of th new ZG druish gear its all high AC. these are great for when we need to bust into bear form when we are gettin bombarded. I'd rather just have a simple fade... I hate tryin to loose aggro.

The idea is that once in a blue moon a high armor leather item appears that makes druids go "oooooooh!" because that's a TON of armor in bear form. Cloudrunner Girdle, the Volcanic gear... there are a few out there ^^

Malfurion's Blessed Bulwark still owns all.

Heh, the Atal'ai spaulders that drop in the Sunken Temple* have an armor value close to that, and they have a much lower level requirement, so yeah it's leather :P. A guildie got these ones on his first trip to Zul'Gurub, they rock.

Are you sure this is a leather item? The next highest AC for leather shoulders is 136...this is 201, probably enough to be a mail item.
