YAY!

Just got this on my lev 60 War.

Did my first 20 or 40 man raid tonight with a PUG to ZG that started at 3am as i was about to go to bed. It was awesome - 4 bosses down - 6 deaths only in the entire run and a whopping 38s repair bill for me.

Five warriors but only three rolled for it (no other classes) and i won with a 48... sometimes it pays to stay up late.

A quality drop a warrior just moving up from BRD/Strat/Scholo/BRS runs.

We've taken this boss multiple times, I've only seen this ring drop 3x so far.
The night I got it was brutal, died 4x during the Mandokir battle (thank the gods for those spirits!) due to bad healing assignments!

With our DKP system down, it went to a /roll...I won it by 2, so I didn't complain about the 8g repair bill. But I did get some snickers over the Gollum impression over vent "MY PRECIOUS!" So now I have my eye on that lovely blade of his...

http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=19912 dropped and I was the only one that needed it so I won it. Later on another warrior comes to replace one that had to leave. We down Mandokir and this ring drops. I rolled an 82 and thought I would complete this set in one night. Then the other warrior rolls a 98. Just my luck...

Told him after that I had the other ring from earlier. Said he would have passed on this one if he knew that. Oh well, I'll just have to kill this guy 1,000 more times for the ring.

I have this set. And I must say I think it is one of the finest tanking sets in the game. If not the best.

I am sure it could be argued that the Heavy Dark Iron Ring (20 sta 5 def) along with this ring is better for limiting crit chance, but my thinking is by wearing this set you improve dodge by 2%. (Not to mention, your chance to block goes up).

Any thoughts?

This amazing item drops of Bloodlord Mandokir. Mandokir is the third boss located in the Zul Gurrub Instance. He is not one of Hakkars high priests and does not have to be killed to kill fight Hakkar. He is located just past that of Venoxis, and up a large series of stairs.

Its kinda funny that Im the only warrior in our guild who has Heavy Dark Iron Ring and not a good ring to pair it. Now on my 12th ZG run I got this after all 4 other tanks got it before me. There really aren't better ring combo for general tanking as this + dark iron ring. Phat defense and good stamina, stats that you need.

ps. Got the sword from him too :)

from the 4th boss in ZG, the Bloodlord dude. Nice replacement for Band of Flesh. I really dont see any pickup groups having much success in this dungeon tho.
