just something to think about it before you swear it off, 500 armor is almost as much as a plate chest
You're not going to PVP with 700 armor or so. If you really care about survival in the BG you'll be getting 1500+ RAW armor atleast, unbuffed. It's doable, I certainly plan to do it at level 60 and when I have time. And this trinket is just a bonus you can use whenever its possible. Pretty good IMO.
The entire purpose of this trinket is to reduce damage you take. Which is:
* Useless in MC/BWL because if the group is competent you shouldn't be taking any damage. And it's less than 1% difference anyway.
* Useless in world PVP (read: Rogue attacks you) because it needs to be activated. Something you probably can't do while stunlocked.
* Useless in BG for a little of both the previous reasons.
If +healing worked on this trinket, It would be usable. With full Transcendence and a host of other epic +healing gear, This trinket would heal about 700hp/hit, meaning you could shrug off a hit or two in MC and survive significantly longer in BG.
But no. Why do you hate us Blizzard? Was it something we did? I notice you gave the SHAMAN trinket a bonus to healing...why not us?

Pretty hugely useless and very lame trinket for the effort to aquire it in Blackwing Lair. The palladin one rules, the droood one is.. well very limited in use, but at least not useless.
This one is just sad.
Oh well.
Any priest that gets this trinket and feels differently, please let me know what a great trinket it is and how it helped you out.
* Lowbie instance farming with Holy Nova (use the trinket, since it procs off any damage hit, even a 1 damage hit will proc it).
* Jin'do the Hexxer in Zul'Gurub - Use it when you have alot of shades attacking you. Since they do 1 damage, you'll be gaining 34 life every time you are hit.
* PvP - Save yourself from a untimely death in case that warrior charges you. 500 may not be alot, but for a priest with Inner Fire active it can up your armor to 2000, which is a similar amount of mitigation to a rogue, if not more.
Still not worth spending dkp on imo.

A 35 pt heal in a zone where you are getting hit for 1000-2000? An extra 500 Armor which roughly equals another 10% Damage mitigation?
As a Priest, getting hit by a regular MOB equals a good 1500pt per swing. Getting hit by a Boss is probably 2000+. Taking an extra 200 off the top because of the 500 Armor, is not going to help. Neither is the 35 Damage when you just got hit for 1800.
