First question: Anyone know how high the proc rate is on the chance on hit it got? is it like crusader or lower? ..or perhaps even higher?

Second question: Do you guys think its best to spec 2h fury with this one or should arms be a better suggestion if a warrior have around 1000 attack power without battle shout?

Third question: Wich sword is the best you think Bonereavers Edge or Untamed blade? the dps is abit higher on bonereaver but the proc on the Untamed blade is really cool....

plz answer this question and stop talk about warrior/paladin or hunter item..its just so annoying..you see it everywhere and it really doesnt chance a sh*t no matter how long threads you do

Of course, dps warriors will get most use from this weapon. I am a paladin and if my guild's dps warriors need it, I wouldn't mind pass it until every one of them has it (for the benefit of the guild and PvE raid).

However, the proc of this weapon is more of the paladin "Seal of Command" style. From my experience, the proc rate of this weapon is quite equivalent to the proc rate of Seal of Command. And since it has been confirmed that the Crusader enchant stacks with this weapon's proc, I think that if Untamed Fury/Seal of Command/Crusader happen all at the same time the damage will be very considerable.

For hunters with this weapon, I personally have no comment. I am not arguing that this weapon should not belong to a hunter, but if a warrior (regarless if he/she is MS/Fury) or a full retribution paladin wants to have it, they should have it. It will benefit them both in the long run.

Otherwise, any class that can wield this weapon can have it; it is only a PvP toy anyway.

Honestly... I hate Chance-On-Hit Hunters...

Order:

1. Warriors - Fury or MS (Though this really isn't impressive for MS, I'd rather use TUF or Zin'Rohk for MS myself)

2. Paladins - They use it more then Hunters for sure.

3. The Shard Machine - to help teach Huntards that chance on hit is not for them, not now, not ever.

Edit: Prot wars would fit in there somewhere, they need toys too, perhaps 2 ish?

The effects do seem to stack from what the warrior I spoke to earlier said. I saw a hunter and a warrior in the same guild that both had this weapon. As for this being no hunter weapon though, go cry somewhere else. :P A warrior will get more use out it since a warrior's DPS is almost purely melee, but a hunter can get 'ok' use out of it as well. At this point in the game there are several guilds that I know of that are actually handing this out to anyone that will take it because everyone else either has better AQ/Naxx gear, equivalent 2H's from somewhere else (PVP, etc.), or they have Ashkandi.

But this wep is only good for hunters in PvP, but not that good anyway. And warriors aren't just supposed to be tanking as someone said, because then when they aren't in a raid, what do they do then? Tanking random instances like Scholo or Strat? I don't think so. And in raid you actually NEED dps warriors.

Allright, you twisted my arm and I will take the bait. Although this argument was formulated for another weapon that meets the criteria better than this one, it still has some application. Personally, I think this weapon fits too much with the traditional "hunter weapon" than what I would use, but I could live with the hunter-friendly stat bonuses if I had to. I am tired of hearing that hunters should not even be allowed to dream of decent weapons, so I want to respond to hunter critics to explain why hunters would benefit from big, slow melee weapons. Here is an encapsulation of the intellectual defecation I hear from people on the subject and my not-so-humble rebuttals:

Wrongheaded argument 1: hunters should only care about stats (particularly agility). Ha ha! If you are fighting mobs, a little extra agility makes no difference because mobs are stupid and you just stand back and kill them at your leisure. If you are fighting PvP and players are so stupid that they let you stand back and shoot them, they will also die and deservedly so. But most players understand that they should close in and engage you, either casting in your dead zone or doing hand-to-hand combat. All that agility is worth ZERO at that point, which is where you will find yourself constantly in PvP.

Wrongheaded argument 2: hunters can't/don't/shouldn't melee. See above--everyone will want to melee you (except other hunters). Since you can't avoid melee, what should you do? If you have the savage strikes talent (of course you do), your crit chance is raised by 20% for the raptor strike you can do every 6 seconds. Make it count--get a big, slow weapon that will crit for a lot of damage. When they close in on you, take that raptor strike swing for +20% crit chance! Then hit them with a wing clip (which is instant cast) and run. You want to use a weapon with about a 3.5 second delay so that you get about one second to spam raptor strike every other swing after the cooldown expires. This will maximize your damage in melee (and it will be a lot with a monster weapon).

Wrongheaded argument 3: Hunters shouldn't get warrior/rogue weapons. Since rogues favor fast weapons, I would agree on the rogue weapons. I also wouldn't bother with any dual wield combinations (despite the popularity of such things in the hunter world, ostensibly to get the max +30 agility enchanting--see argument 1). But hunters need the biggest, meanest 2-hand weapon they can wield. That does put them in conflict with many a mighty warrior. Okay, if the weapon is better than what a warrior already has, let him have it. But if the melee guys already have something as good or better, the hunter deserves to get a shot at a good high damage 2-hander. In a PUG, people are going to be jerks about it. But a guild is just shooting themselves in the foot to deny a high crit weapon to their hunters, especially if they do PvP.

Now lots of people think that stats are more important than procs for a hunter. Let's consider why that is not true for PvP. Critical strikes and procs are both a kind of damage that increases variability. They don't occur often, but when they do, they skew the fight heavily in your favor if they are BIG. This is why fast, low damage weapons are worthless to hunters: your raptor strike can be used once every six seconds no matter how big the crit will be off the weapon, so a fast weapon will crit for less damage about as often as a slow weapon will crit for more damage.

But what about procs? Suppose you go for some +stat weapon that raises your average damage a few DPS. Will you win PvP fights more often? The answer is NO! For example, if that rogue or warrior can do 200 DPS and you and your pet can do 160 DPS, raising your DPS to 170 means that they will need a bigger bandage and you will still die every time. It is true that you will never be able to duel a melee class on their terms and win (just like they aren't going to stand at a distance and win a duel with bows or guns against a hunter).

So how do you compensate? Forget +AGI, that won't win in PvP. Weapon procs and high crit chance is the answer! Instead of going for +stats, go for weapon procs. That means getting something like Kang the Decapitator or the Halberd of Smiting and putting fiery enchant or lifesteal on it. As far as equipment goes, AGI only works on ranged attacks, but generic +AP and +crit helps both. Even strength is useful for buffing up your melee damage. Every seven seconds or so you are going to use raptor strike to give melee classes a taste of their own medicine, so make it painful. Did I mention that no competent hunter is missing the savage strikes talent?

Your strategy should be to do as much damage at range as you can (freezing trap, concussive shot, sic your pet on them, serpent sting, and net-o-matic projector) and then raptor strike for huge crits and possible weapon procs when they get close. Drop a stick of dynamite or a bomb on them, too. Make sure you have minor speed increase on your boots instead of +AGI, and consider using goblin or gnomish rocket boots to outmaneuver your opponent. There is also the rocket helm and harm prevention belt, too. And the deathray is fun! Use wing clip to help you get back out to range. Kite them and crit them and proc them and they will die!

But the bottom line is that a big, nasty, 3+ second melee weapon with a damage proc is a hunter's best friend in PvP. Unfortunately, this sword has hunter stats, but you will have to live with it (won't be hard). The +300 strength proc ain't perfect, but it does give +300 attack power to a hunter for melee, so it does help big time when it procs. This will crit for massive damage in the hands of a hunter.

Obviously warriors are going to lobby against a hunter getting it--but that is motivated by self-interest masquerading as sound advice. I already said that if your fellow warrior would benefit from a good melee weapon, let them have it. But if you are in an enlightened guild, you should be able to get a top-of-the-line melee weapon as a hunter. Melee is not the first choice for combat, but you should be prepared to use it to win a fight against an opponent you have weakened at range. Melee is the finishing move, rather than the opening move, for hunters.

This item is rewarded from PVE and most guilds will want to give this to whomever will be able to use it the most in PVE situations. If a guild has downed razorgore, no doubt they have cleared MC and ZG.. there are multiple combinations of weapons that can be obtained from MC / ZG that weigh much better than TUB for hunters ranged attacks and in PVE a hunter most likely won't be using his "big, slow proc weapon" and also probably won't be using wingclip and that +20% savage strikes talent that "no hunter should be without".

This item drops from a 40-man raid encounter. As such, it makes little sense when you argue that hunters can use this for pvp. Sure they can, but any guild with some sense will be handing out items primarily based on how they can help in raid pve. And in pve raids, hunters are almost purely ranged - which means this should only go to a hunter when melee classes have it (or better).

I'm sorry that is wrong, Galmindor?

"what is 57 Alex?"

Oh, I'm sorry again. I was looking for "what is 47".

<Yay for elementary school maths!>

Anyway, this is a melee weapon for melee classes. Warriors get the most benefit due to either, sword spec in the Arms tree or Bloodthirst in the fury tree. Sword spec should be self explanatory, but bloodthirst is based on attack power and this weapon has a huge melee attack power proc. 300 strength = 600 AP = 270 additional dmg on a non-crit bloodthirst, the proc is 8 seconds, just long enough to get one BT off each proc. Not to mention the additional 42.8 dps on normal swings. Add crusader to this, and that's a potential 800 ap if they proc together.

Well, that's embarrassing. But still, enchanted BSH x2 (which are 5-man blues, remember) give more agility than this BWL drop, which was my point.

my guild has a shadow priest, and a druid in it's raids. though I personaly wouldnt spend the dkp for this, I can see why a hunter would want to.
