I got it my first run through :), but how do i use it? I wont let me do anything with it.

The drop rate has definitivly been increased, we've had it drop 4 times out of 6 kills.

Anyone know if the drop rate on this has been increased? OR what it is supposed to be?

I know the leaf is not 50% (although we have gotten the eye 3 times ina row now LOL)

I been digging thru all the patch noted for past year and didn't see any mention of the drop rates being modified.

Thott shows this ite at about 23% and Alla is showing it 4% higher.

The Drop Rate is definetly not a 100%. My guild's record, untill about 2 months ago (thats when we stoped running it for dkp), is 15 out of 74, which is roughly 20% drop rate. If it has been buffed since then it should be around 25%-30% now. I highly doubt that the drop rate has any relevancy to whether or not there is a hunter with the quest in raid, because out of our 15 drops, 8 were a waste.

Is this 100% drop now? I've picked up 2 myself since 1.9 (I'm a warrior). We've never had it not drop since halfway through 1.8

I’m starting to hate onyxia...
Other guilds get the sinew every night and day, I am 0/8 on it atm.
I know that isn’t even that worse like some 0/20 people, but maybe I have the same fate -.-

We've recently been able to farm Onyxia and the sinew has yet to drop once. We currently have 3 hunters waiting for it (including me). It's getting insane how poorly this is dropping.

In my guild one hasn't dropped in the last 16 Onyxia kills. Which is bad, because the sinew queue is currently 5 hunters long.

killed Onyxia 8 times after I completed the quest and not a single sinew dropped. I'm starting to think that I'll get Ashjre'thul first -_-

Dropped last night for my guild (first time we ever killed Onyxia! wooot!)
I nor any of the other hunters in my guild have the quest from the Ancient Petrified Leaf. The most we have is 1 Mature Blue Dragon Sinew, which belongs to me ^_^
So, in response, you *do not* have to have the quest for this to drop or anything else. It's just a random drop like the Blue Sinew.
Now I just need my leaf and my heads! =D =D

The mature blue dragon sinew drops off azuregos and is for forming the quiver part of the quest. The mature black dragon sinew forms the string for the bow. 21% seems a bit high for this drop though. My guild has never seen it drop once and other guilds report few drops.
