I 2 man'd Hydrospawn today. Im a paladin, and my friend is a warrior, it was a tough fight, but we managed to kill him.
Then this neck dropped. Didnt really want it, but got it on greed anyway.

I only killed the Hydrospawn once, for the Crystal Water quest. This dropped.

As for the difficulty in beating the Hydrospawn...

Well, me (a positively awful Mage who had just hit 60) and a friend of mine (another 60 Mage, possibly the single best PvP Mage I've ever met) managed to solo DM East up to the point where the Hydrospawn was by sneaking past most mobs. Then the Hydrospawn pwned us repeatedly until we managed to guilt-trip ANOTHER friend of mine (a 60 Rogue, again, one of the single best PvPers I've ever met), and we killed the Hydrospawn quite quickly. They probably could have done the whole thing without me (being the newbie that I am), but when all is said and done, the Hydrospawn can be 3-manned.
