Let me get this right. A non-engineer can use this, but it only is good for one use. If I shut it down, it dies on me. Oh, and Bliz gets all the stuff sold to it and the repair costs.
With as much as I paid for the mats, this should be a 10 time item at least. Better if it were a life time item.

Heres to us and them like us. Damn few. And they're all dead.
an engineer has to use it. then everyone can use it. yes, you don't get any money from it. you can't "shut it down".
and... it saves raids from having to go all the way back to town to repair, and therefore enables them to accomplish more in the instance. easily worth the price. it's made specifically for raids.
oh, and yes, it only requires 300 skill level. it was a pre tbc recipe. you can get it in brd.
59 rogue - I stealthed through BRD to this room, let loose my arcanite dragonling and took the plans. The dragon died instantly from golem lord and his cronies, and I died shortly after. It was worth it :)
well... since it says "Requires Engineering (300)", i'd say it's only usable by an engineer... but since the only place you'd realistically use them seems to be MC or equivalent, I figure there isn't too much of a chance that there won't be an engineer in the group (40 man are a LOT of people :) )
I think what he means is "can anyone sell to it and reapair their armor." Don't be so quick to be sarcastic when you don't even understand the question. And yes, it will repair armor of a non-engineer.
If you want to farm fused wiring, then either make a crapload of target dummies to suicide for it, or camp shredders in STV.(Target dummys have insaninly common drop rate on FW, at least for me)
Shedders have decent fused wiring drop rate, and are only lvl35 or so, there willonly be 2 of them up at once, but they have decent spawn time.
im a rouge a lev 32 rouge and i have a few questions where is teh golem lord room and if im in stealth mode can i copy it or will i unstealth and is the golem considered humanoid
oh and i know a great place to get teh fused wiring just make a post asking where if u wanna know, this isn't gnomer to let u know and teh monster that drops it drops it about once every 2 - 3 kills :) problem is theres only about 4 spawned at one time :( ( to long to type if no one wants to know)

Blizzard owns cause it can.
Do something bad they own you, do something good they were going to do they own you.
Yeah, the fused wiring is a problem, mostly. I'm planning to farm gnomeregan tonight, though, and stock up.
I reckon the parts cost somewhere around 3g, then the fused wiring on top. However, I've found that often I'm happy to drop one in an instance, when my bags are full, because if I can sell stuff for 5g, and then have room for another 5g's worth of stuff, that's a profit, instead of having to leave stuff behind all the time. Plus, some evenings, you just find you're being wipetastic, and it's nice to repair on the go.
Also, the repair cost -seems- to be about 30% more than a regular repair.
And yes, if you have less than 300 engineering, it says that you can't comprehend the schematic.
Fused wiring? Just make up some target dummies, let 'em expire or use on some mobs to destroy them and just loot them for hopefully fused wiring afterwards. May take a couple tries, but as even the basic target dummies drop 'em, it saves paying the extortionate prices at the AH at least.
If you buy all the parts off of the AH you'll spend close to 10g (on Doomhammer server). Thorium and fused wiring running the highest prices.
The repair costs are more than getting repaired in a city or wherever. The vendors give you lower prices for faction, the repair bot is the base repair cost.
Thing i like best about my repair bot (other than the repair wherever we stop for a break) is the ability to sell the junk items you grab during the raids.
One use only. With the hefty materials required that means it's probably only worth it in one spot, Molten Core, if there. What's worse, they don't stack. I would much rather have a couple hour cooldown and more materials required than this. I would be willing to use several arcanite bars for something more permanent.
Yep just got mine my group kind of wiped trying to clear room before Golem Lord Argelmach so I just did a suicide mission and sent my pet in luckily the schematic doesnt have any delay after you use it. Just use it and click on text that popups and you will auto learn how to make it. Luckily I didn't die and I Feign Death before my pet died.

just my 2 cents.
(although it _was_ a somewhat hard-to-interpret question, so I'm not taking *all* the blame :))
you're right to ask though, it doesn't clearly state in the desc that anyone really can use it..

i tried and kept getting item is not ready yet,
but there doesnt appear to be a cooldown?
so mr I'm a level 32 rogue, no, you wouldn't be able to do anything about it...you would get vaped.
