thats a really helpful item. i found one similar (but a much lower level) it was called fel collar or something, it spawns a fel hunter that will gaurd u for 30 mins or an hour (he is level 30)

I have reason to believe that offhands have no cooldown between switching; this makes me see this offhand in a whole new light. Keep good stats -AND- use a skeleton... If this is the case, I can see why Blizzard would nerf it now...

We beg, for the expansion, bring this book back with even more glory!

2 level 73 Skeletons for 1 minute with a 15 minute cooldown ><

You don't have to put stats on it, but people have no reason to use this crap if it isn't better.

Just got this thing off Onyxia. She also droped Shard of scale >_>. Anyhow this thing hits for 90 on average.

For the life of me I do not understand as to why everyone is complaining over this item. It still has it's uses.

I am a Orc Warlock and I replaced my Spellbound Tome with this and I enjoy playing with the Skeleton by making him attack Magmadar, Lucifron, Razorgore etc.

It's got some nifty stats and the skeleton can act as a cast interupter in Caster/Caster fights.

It's not as good as it use to be; but it's still good.

A demonologist warlock in my guild got it (then a druid got it.. but lets not talk about that). The skeleton is lvl 60 at the moment and you can have this + warlock pet out.

Got this on Perenold to go with my Aurastone Hammer. The skele may not be as powerful as it once was but it can still off tank while i'm soloing, allowing me to take out 3 mob groups of 60's with ease.

As a priest this item is great for fending off rogues in pvp... I actually had one log on to an alliance alt just to ask me what had happened :-)

Overall it may not be the most useful item ever, but it's the most fun item I currently own.

If you don't already have this book, dont spend your DKP on it.

They're nerfing the pet to level 60, so its pvp usefulness against the anti caster (rogues) will be very limited. They're also cutting its damage in half according to tests from the test server.

Their reasoning? He was never supposed to be level 76. You know, despite the fact that they mentioned specifically in a patch that they were increasing its level to make it more useful.

So he went from 63 -> 69 -> 76 and now to level 60. Yeah, a bug.

They aren't increasing the stats either to compensate for the uselessness of the effect, so once again casters are screwed in the offhand department compared to shields.

This item has 2 more sta and 1 more spirit than Book of the Dead, which drops in live side strath off of Balnazzar, something you can do with 5 people.. hardly "epic" before, but the skeleton was fun.. Now it's useless.

I got this book last Friday. The book is cool looking as you can see in the picture above. The skeleton is 76. He took down our best geared Rogue to 40 something % himself.

He also does see through stealth because of his level. It is very funny having a rogue stealth, and then popping this thing out.

Now I just need the mageblade =)


Edit: From what the rogue told me, he is very hard to hit. A priest also told me he resist alot.

Damn, I want this thing. Perfect for mages in every way. Dropped for us before, but I was outbidded by another mage.

Would go great with my sorcerous dagger ;)

dropped on thursday night and a mage guildy got it... he can own in pvp now. says the skeleton makes a big difference.

He's now level 76, and seems to hit for 200+ often.

Given his level, he also sees through rogue stealth (or did yesterday at a TM raid), so I'd hardly call it a dissapointment.

IMHO this book is a disapointment,
Looted it tonight, it only have one more statpoint then Penelopes' rose.... the summoned 69 skel cannot hold agro, does 45 to 100 points per hit, has a VERY slow attackspeed.... has around 3 to 4k hps... at best a toy... my mithril dragonling is more effective

this is exactly like the epic book of the dead but that summoned a lvl 63 skelli

It's awesome!! The skeleton is lvl 69, it just looks like a regular skelli though nuttin fancy!!
