Mission Orders

A mission issued by Heavens Tower. In reply to the Yagudo Holy One's invitation, you are to compete and triumph at the contest held at Balga's Dais deep within Giddeus.

Walkthrough

After receiving the mission go see Star Sibyl in Heavens Tower (located in Windurst Walls). She tells you about a competition between the Yagudo and Windurst and gives you an invitation to participate. Your title becomes "Hero on Behalf of Windurst".

Go to the Burning Circle located in Balga's Dais which lies in Giddeus. When ready, enter the burning circle, selecting the battle "Saintly Invitation."

This is a 1 party battle and up to 6 people may enter. You will fight 4 named Yagudo:

After winning the fight you will receive the key item: Balga Champion Certificate. You are then told to go see a Yagudo at the top of Castle Oztroja and receive an Ashura Necklace. Go to the top of Oztroja where the treasure coffer key mobs are found. Fight them until one "Judgment Key" is dropped. You only need one key for your entire alliance.

Continue on to the Brass Door at (F-4). Have one party member collect "passwords" at torches located at (G-7), (G-8), (H-7), and (H-8). The passwords reset each game day. Once you fall through the trap door, you will have to get past a Yagudo High Priest to get to another Brass Door. It may be difficult for your whole alliance to get past safely as the high priest can see through invisible.

Trade the Judgment Key to the Brass Door. The key has only ONE use then will disappear, so make sure everyone is at the door entrance and ready to head through before you open it. This door does NOT stay open long and cannot be opened from the inside. The only thing you can do is have a person die and then be tractored over to the other side.

Speak with Kaa Toru the Just, who stands just inside the door. He will give you a key item: Holy One's Oath and an Ashura Necklace. Return to Windurst and speak to the Star Sibyl to complete the mission. You will be pardoned from your crimes in the previous mission, attain Rank 7, and receive 40000 gil.

To read the spoilers for this mission, please refer to the Saintly Invitation Spoilers page.

Strategies

As with other multiple mob BC fights, bring a BRD or a BLM to sleep the mobs you are not currently fighting. It is probably best to kill in the order WHM > SMN > SAM > NIN. Be careful of SMN and NIN 2hr attacks as they can hurt everyone badly. Only 1 party up to 6 people can enter at a time. The fight is easier than BCNM60 for any PT of 6 lvl65+. Try to have as balanced a PT as possible. No provokers and lots of mages can succeed but it is difficult. Note that only players who have received the Saintly Invitation mission or completed it (not just fought the BC) can enter the BC. This means that if you fight the BC, you will have to do the second part of the mission in Castle Oztroja and see the final cut scene in Heaven's Tower before you can do the fight again. No immediate turnaround, so don't have people sit out unless they are planning on waiting a hour or more.

This mission is really easy. You need only two people to do it, the more the marrier.

Any one of the following:

Either

Any solo class DD: (NIN, THF, SAM, DRG, PUP, BST, BLU, just about anything sub NIN or possibly DNC)

~Or~

Any Solo class mage: (RDM, BLU, WHM/NIN etc)

~And~

Any job that can cast sleepga: (BLM, BRD, etc.)

Run into the BC and start with Elemental Seal Sleepga or whichever method you have available. Person killing stuff picks SMN or NIN > SAM > WHM.

Just remember to keep Barfira up for Mijin Gukire. The SMN's Astral Flow wasn't that bad. It was noteworthy for how fast it cast its Avie out and used the move rather than the damage it dealt. After NIN and SMN are killed, consider the BC won. SAM and WHM are too weak.

Any thoughts on attempting to solo it as rdm/nin?

I was thinking chainspell at the start and sleepII three of them and debuff whichever one is fought first. Obviously it would be significantly easier after the first two are dead so you can alternate between sleepI and sleepII. Maybe even bind the sam if necessary.

Might give it a go just to see.

I realize this reaches you 2 years too late, but for anybody reading this who *Isn't* Avesta, I wouldn't recommend this, as you will probably get creamed by yags who didn't sleep as long as you hoped. Is it possible? Yeah, probably. Should you? No. Seriously, the yags don't sleep for very long at all, you really need one person dedicated to sleeping the yags, while the rest fight. They don't hit all that hard, but I wouldn't want to try handling them all myself, that's for sure. What I do recommend soloing though, is the second part of the mission, where you run past the High Priest. Less people equals less chance of being caught, always a good thing in my opinion.

I've had 6-2 flagged for nearly a year now, and after a rather impulsive lighthearted comment about how I'd never finished it to my LS, next thing I know I was actually in Balgas Dais actually finishing this BC...Setup was WHM75/BLM37 (me) and THF74/NIN37 (Mesiah).

This battle was an absolute joke, to be frank. I went in first and opened with ES + Sleepga, whilst Mesiah went in and took them out one by one.

Order of death was SMN > SAM > NIN > WHM.

Initially after the first Sleepga simply pull one mob down back to the exit, and when the others wake and follow, Sleepga them again and pull back up to the BC itself. I was resting inbetween sleeps, so MP wasn't an issue. As a 75WHM I had absolutely no trouble getting Sleep to stick with capped enfeebling, so a BLM isn't needed for this fight.

SMN's elemental can use Ancient Magic (but can be silenced), and Astral Flow has the potential to hurt. SAM poses no real threat to a blink tank, keep Barfira up at all times for the NIN (ended up doing around 300dmg when it blew up with us, with a +20 Barfira up from my Cleric's pants), and go all out on the WHM, who has Benediction and the usual fare of Dia, Paralyze and lolBanishga.

All in all, a pretty easy, but fun fight. A lot of fun to have multiple roles as a WHM rather than being Haste *****. ^^

this was such an easy fight. Solo'd it as RDM/BLM in 22 mins.

Trick is to have a macro set that has these macros:

Stoneskin, Phalanx, Blink, Ice Spikes, Haste, Refresh Paralyze, Slow, Blind, Silence

Get your melee gear on, this is 5x easier than nuking it out.

I used Joyeuse, Genbu's Shield, Bal;m Sachet, Wlk. Chapeau +1, Spike Necklace, Suppanomimi, Diabolos' Earring, Narashima's Vest, Custom M Gloves, Tamas Ring, Jelly Ring, Amemet Mantle+1, Warwolf Belt, Duelist's Tights, Duelist's Boots.

Trick is to ES, Sleepga, then debuff the WHM. Para, slow, blind, silence. Make sure at all times you have Stoneskin, Ice Spikes, Haste, Refresh, and Aquaveil on. Phalanx is suggested as well. Just melee it out. The WHM will Bene, hopefully before 50%. Every time Drainis up use it, everytime Aspir is up aspir the elemental.

I killed them in WHM > NIN > SAM > SMN. Use the elemetal as an aspir pool. When he runs out of MP use the SMN. Mijin Gakure did 51 dmg, Astral Flow (Tidal Wave) from the SMN did 25 dmg.

Fun BCNM, I'd had more challenge from linking yags by the Templars and High Priests though.

Wow, aren't you a smart one.

You can change nation, and you don't really need rank 10 to do anything end-game either. You can get sky access at rank 6, and I know lots of people that only bothered doing the rank missions after out of boredom or because they wanted the flag.

I got whm 75 while I was bastok rank 10, and I'm currently doing all the windy missions so I can get the CP items for my rdm.

I guess the only ****** here is you ^-^b

A Mage Approach
# Jun 05 2006 at 7:30 PM Rating: Decent
My local friends and I have our own little linkshell, and we like to try to do things all on our own and stuff, so after we finished doing 6-1, we wanted to see if the three of us could do the 6-2 BCNM on our own.

We recently dinged 68 as RDM, WHM, and BLM. (Static Party)

Moderately mimicking the strategy of the RDM who was soloing (post should be near this one), we went in to fight it.

Note that I am the Red Mage.
Taru 68RDM/BLM
Taru 68BLM/WHM
Elvaan 68WHM/WAR

I run in, Elemental Seal + Sleepga the mobs. (Note that my Enfeebling Magic is 253 with my gear, which was capped for 67, but not quite yet capped for 68, all with full AF on.)

The strategy we used was to kill the mobs one by one using the following method: The BLM Blizzard or Thunder III'd the mob and while the BLM was midcast I would start casting Sleep/Sleep II (whichever was available at that moment). Whenever the rest of them woke up I would Sleepga them. Sleepga would stick on every mob every time. The WHM the whole time would provoke random mobs and keep the BLM and RDM cured.

We killed the WHM first to get through his Benediction. He definitely took the longest. Once we had him gone, we took out the SMN's bothersome elemental. Then we took out the SMN. Astral Flow, with all 3 of us having Stoneskin on, did about 300ish damage to all 3 of us. Not bad at all in my opinion. He pulls out a random summon, I presume, but for us it was Leviathan.

Then, since we knew the NIN's 2 hour was the only other worry, we went after him next. He did Mijin Gakure at about 35% health, and did about 200 damage through stoneskin to the three of us. As a funny sidenote, he Mijin Gakure'd in the middle of one of my sleeps, and so he was asleep lying on the ground.

We got rid of him, then had only the Samurai left. We knew we were getting low on time, so this time, we made this one a little more hectic, but pretty much the same method. We defeated him and came to find that we beat the BCNM in 27 minutes and 46 seconds.

To summarize the strategy...

1) RDM Sleepga
2) BLM Blizzard III + RDM Sleep II
3) BLM Thunder III + RDM Sleep
4) Wait for the others to wake up, RDM Sleepga
5) Repeat 2-4.

RDM kept the WHM, BLM, and self refreshed. Converted when necessary. BLM rested when necessary and the RDM kept the mobs asleep. The WHM did his best to minimize the damage taken while keeping as many mobs off them as possible to limit casting interruption. Paralyna is necessary due to the Ninja using his spells. Silencing him is useless because it doesn't last long enough and just isn't worth the MP. BLM Aspir'd as often as possible.

This way seems a little hectic, but it works and is a way to do this without a tank.

Edited to fix wording.

Soloed successfully.

Died the first time because of problems with the ninja who paralyzed me etc.

The second time I went in with the following tactic that I thought up after the 1st defeat and won in 21mins+.

Kill order: whm, nin, sam, smn

1) Buff fully, eat Marron Glace for more mp.
2) Go in sleepga immediately
3) Aspir whenever possible on any mp mob
4) Blizzard3 the whm
5) make sure nin is silenced (if you get paralyzed by it...) followed by Blizzaga to wake everyone up
6) Sleepga them immediately, so they stay together.
* steps 5 and 6 are very important

Keep repeating
A) Aspir, Buff Up
B) Blizzard3 the the mob to be killed, Drain if needed (if need hp, dun bother curing)
C) Silence the nin if still alive, Blizzaga the mob at the center
D) Sleepga them immediately.

Following this sequence I used no medication at all. 1st time mp run out, I used convert. 2nd time mp run out (Convert still cooling down), I used Chainspell and Aspired the Smn. 3rd time mp run out, used convert.

Beat the BC in 21 mins, 32 seconds.

The whm did benediction which prolonged his life, and the nin and smn both 2hr me, but with full buffs up they are not dangerous.

This is a tough BC for a RDM to solo... So be prepared to be at the edge of your seat.

Hope this helps.

Soloed. Make sure you have about 7-8 yagudo drinks.

Aspir the WHM as much as possible. And open up with a nuke that isn't weak to avatar. AKA don't start with Blizzaga III on fire elemental avatar. Thundaga III though will one shot it.

First attempt I only had hi-ethers and manafont.

Ran out of time with 2 left but didn't die.

Second attempt?

No manafont, 7 yag drinks, 1 hi-ether
Won with 8 minutes left

BOOM HEADSHOT :-D

Last night we did the BCNM, me (69 blm), another 75 blm, and a 58 rdm.

We do the normal thing of opening with sleepga II and pulling the whm. I think we went a little easy on it as the others woke up before it was finished and it used benediction for 2500ish points. But otherwise he went down pretty easy. We took the sam next as we were using the smn and the smn elemental as aspir whores. It used it's two hour right before it died, but with thunder IV and Stone IV going off, it didn't last long at all. RDM was telling me that we had it dead before she noticed we were fighting it :P Took the smn next, with my blm buddy using manafont (didn't need to, but he was getting tired of the fight by this time). Last was the nin. The combination of Thunder IV and sleepga II worked extremely nice as he never got close enough to use his 2hr.

Best time of a little over 19 minutes on Ifrit. We could have easily done it faster if we didn't play with the whm at first and I used my 2hr as well. Nobody went below yellow except for the rdm who used convert. Nuke/Sleep FTW!

Just duoed it with a friend, me 75rdm/blm, him 72bst. Took us 16min49sec.

I don't doubt you could solo it with 75 rdm without too much trouble as the poster below me says.

Be aware that it's quite possible to have all your melee stuff on and still sleepga the mobs. I had one mob wake early once but no resists.

We did whm -> sam -> nin -> smn.

Nin 2 hour hit my bst friend for 839 and me for 375 (probably took about the same but i had stoneskin up).

Searing Light did 407 to me, 106 to him and 258 to snipper-in-a-can, but I'm not sure who had stoneskin up and whether it was fresh hehe.

A lot of fun and the things the npc yag says in the cutscenes are amusing.

Confirmed that the entire mission is soloable by RDM75/BLM37 (including the yagudo BC). I cleared it in 16min33seconds. By all means the Yagudo BC was not cake, it was a challenge. But with competence and decent equip, I got through it with relative ease. The order I killed them in was WHM > SAM > NIN > SMN. Kept them slept with sleepga and used the elemental as a MP (Aspir) pool. Converted once and had plenty of MP left afterwards when the battle ended.

For anyone that cares:
BLM/RDM>BLM/WHM

A. at level 75 a blm should never have to raise anyway. who wants a raise I over a raise III?....
B. by subbing rdm you get phalanx, so a little more def, you get fast cast II so you cast faster, and you also get an extra magic attack bonus from it instead of an extra magic defense bonus from whm subbed. also you get 3 more base int... sooooo...why would anyone sub whm at level 75?....

I disagree.

Phalanx and fast cast are nice but...

You lose all the -na spells for curing status. You get more MP with WHM. You get the defenisve to magic trait. And to top it off....

The Magic Attack Bonus does not stack with what blm already gets. So you don't get that anyway.

On the rdm side I would add gravity. That is one usefull spell.
RE: um....about the blm/rdm comment....
# Aug 22 2006 at 4:29 PM Rating: Good
agreed, whm is a far better sub. and the limitation of raise is irreelevent. The benefits of whm far outwiegh the weak buffs you gain from a rdm sub. Since you still get stoneskin/blink from whm just not phalanx. and you get the status cures which are a huge difference between whm and rdm, and you get divine seal should you need it. RDM has no JAs available as a subjob. Dont get me wrong, I love rdm, but rdm only makes a good main (though I sub sometimes on nin cause its useful when running around solo, mainly for the added benefit of en- spells which add a lot of dmg against weaker mobs) its just not an incredibly combat effective sub.

The benefit of either sub is entirely situational. Declaring one better than the other makes no sense.

/WHM is better if you know you're going to be hit with negative status effects or if you need a little more MP. /RDM is better if you need Dispel and Gravity. Phalanx isn't bad either. Personally, I sub RDM when I know I'm likely going to be taking a few hits.

They do have something in common, though. Subbing WHM or RDM has no bearing on this topic whatsoever!

I'm going to point something out...I know this particular mission walkthrough says this, but some of the other ones I looked at online (specifically ffxiclopedia.com) did not mention the fact that you must be Windurstian or have completed the mission previously to enter the BC! Was depressed when I couldn't go in.

Almost cleared this today as 75 war/nin and 70 blm/whm.

The whm and sam wern't a problem, but after they were both down I started to run low on mp. Having to recast blink and stoneskin after sleeping the mobs every time realy started to wear on me. Knew mijin gakure was comming and cured the war to full and cast bar fira when the summoners elemental woke up took out my blink and started casting quake, instinktively stunned to see it get resisted(earth elemental duh).

Quake took me so low that mijin killed me reraised manafonted and slept the mobs and cured the war, but when the smn and elemental woke up again weakness still hadnt worn and died preaty fast. War got the smn down to 15% before droping too.

Moral of the not that hard would have won with some ethers.

75SMN/37WHM
75MNK/37WAR
69PLD/34WAR

61BLM/30RDM
62BLM/30WHM
59THF/29NIN

for the BCNM we split into 2 pts, 1whm1blm in each and the smn / pld went twice cuz they were rank7+. my pt went first it was me, war, blm62, smn, thf and pld. first time go wiped 2nd time was a snap. Fastforward to Castle Oztroja, pt was blm/rdm, blm/whm, whm/blm, whm/blm, war/nin, thf/nin. No problems yet, we get to top of the castle and i randomly enter pwords til we get in. Here where **** goes wrong. I tried to run past High Priest while priest was looking away. He didnt look away long enuff. I get aggroed and i get killed, in side the bronze door. 2nd whm gets killed....blm/whm gets killed...thf dies...
only survivors? NIN/WAR and BLM/RDM.

thats right, Raising power of: 0.

the other whm has a friend who comes out to raise3 us, but takes their sweet time. I get raise 3'd with 1:30 on the timer to spare. Moral of the story: Always use re-raise, and 2: BLM/RDM? give me a break

Alright, did this all last night succesfully.
PT Config for BC -
61 PLD/WAR (me)
69 PLD/WAR
64 BLM/WHM
62 BLM/WHM
72 RDM/WHM
65 WHM/BLM

Was a slow, controlled fight of BLM sleeping them. We took the WHM down no trouble. Once they got unsleeped though, they immediately killed the original Taru BLM. We slept them and took them out in the order above. Eventually raised the first BLM but he died later again from Mijin Gakure. Astral Flow almost wiped him as well. The PLD main tanked and I cured and helped keep a few of the Yags off the BLM when they came out of sleep. All in all pretty easy... 10 mins, 8 seconds was the time with a 6 min 20 sec clear record.

I already had this mission cleared for myself, but I just helped a LS member with it.

The odds were severely against us, as we couldn't really find anyone to help out.

We went in as 72 RDM/BLM (Me), 75 NIN/WAR, and 56 WHM/SMN... and won like that

It was horribly difficult, and we wiped while fighting the WHM (I had lots of hate from Sleepga, and fell before i could re-sleep everything)...

We waited till they all moved back to the middle, RR'd up, and tried again

WHM was no problem after that, Mijin Gakure, while painful, didn't level any of us. Astral Flow was brutal, took down the WHM and nearly took me down, and barely touched teh NIN, but we survived. Took it down and then rested to full while keeping SAM slept. I Chainspelled about 5 Fire III's on it, while making Stoneskin eat it's Meikyo Shisui. NIN did Blade: Ku for the win :p

Battle clear time was 25:27, obviously not a record, but the odds were severely stacked against us. I would not recommend this be tried by a similar party unless you work incredibly well together, and possess insane amounts of skill and a lot of luck.

Just to give you an idea of how EASY the fight is, my pt fought it and won with a WHMx2, BRD, SAM, RDM and WAR.
The SMN only astral flowed once and our SAM 2houred and whooped it's ***. We killed in the order of SMN>WHM>SAM>NIN.
Make sure that you silence the NIN otherwise he'll keep putting shadows up and it takes longer to kill him which may give him a chance to 2hour. And, speaking of shadows, WAIT until his are down before you Elemental Seal+Silence. if you don't, his silence just gets absorbed and it's a waste. Only had to silence him once with ES and wind staff. So, all in all, a very easy fight.

I can vouch that a BLM and a SMN can duo this BC. Did it some time ago so I don't recall exactly how things went, but basically BLM Sleeps the whole lot of them and the SMN works on killing them one by one. They don't hit terribly hard so even with 3 on you Sleeping them isn't a problem, and of course you can Aspir the magely types. It was a little scary at first but just stick to the basics of Sleep/Aspir/Blink/Stoneskin and let anyone with you worry about the rest.

Edit: Forgot to mention that my SMN friend attempted to pull them one at a time and it did not work, so to anyone else contemplating this, don't bother.

what not to do...
# Apr 06 2005 at 10:13 PM Rating: Good
so I totally had no idea where the door was, and I've been trying the castle O part of this for a couple weeks now. I got my judgment key from joining a coffer key party. Well I ran in and I knew about the high priest next to the G3 item, so i got past him. But then I wasn't sure where the door was. I ended up running around to the right and going up to the highest up platform. It turns out that everything up there is an NM with true sight. So I got so totally smoked. I guess the door is actaully just straight back behind the G3 item. Hardest part about this for me is that I have to join a coffer party to get behind the last door to where the password is asked. I guess if I had friends they could get me there... but I don't want to bother them with this awful horrible quest, especially since I got ahead of them and they're not on this yet.

[edit]

so omg Iseria, you're awesome. so me Iseria and Pherue were out skilling up for fun. it was pretty fun and then pherue suggested to me that i suggest to Iseria that we go out to Castle O. so i did and we went. Iseria handled opening doors and switches. By luck, a coffer had spawned directly in our way, and Pherue was BRD so he got his AF pants. Then we got to the top, and down the drop down. The high priest was not even on the center platform so we run for it. Got to the door, nobody was around at all, drop invis, open the final door. w00t! had some problems with DC's but otherwise it could not have possibly gone any smoother. I'm on the boat right now to talk so Sybil and then that's it! XD

Um... Just wondering, I'm currently Bastokan Rank10. Can I help my Windurstrian friends with this mission? For the BC I mean.

They're all bunched together like they normally would be in a BC, so pulling them seperately is near impossible. You'd also have to deal with the problem of the NIN and SMN 2 hours. :3
Very Easy

We do this Mission with 4 Member:

Lv 75 RDM
LV 75 PLD
LV 61 BLM
LV 61 PLD

No Problem. We did the WHM first, then the SAM, NIN and SMN. NIN do 2h and the SMN do 2h from Levithan. Not much DMG. Fight take over 16 min (we need to rest after every fight), but it was Easy ^^
