eq:Root-rotting

Root rotting, or "root and rot", is a method of soloing typically employed by caster classes that can both root and cast Damage-over-Time (DoT) spells. Necromancers and druids excel at this. Shamans can techincally solo by means of "root and rot" as well, though the lack of a snare spell adds an element of danger.

The method of "root and rot" is a bit different from standard kiting:

  1. Root the mob in place.
  2. Snare the mob, to slow its progress to you if the root spell breaks.
  3. Cast several DoTs on the mob.
  4. Meditate. Recast DoTs and root as needed.
