Template:LotROItem

This template makes it possible for us to link items NOW without worrying whether we might get a db one day and have to edit them all manually. Later, when we have a namespace, one edit, here, will fix all of them!

I decided to maintain the same format as item linkers in all the other wiki's, with the addition of the itemid= field for current use. This will make it easier for me to handle linking later if we get full wikibase integration. Any page with this linker that does not have itemid defined will be added to Category:LotRO Item Linkers without itemid. When integration happens those will simply be redlinks.

Usage: {{LotROItem|ItemName|ItemNameDisplay|quality|itemid=|nolink=}}

ItemName

The Item Name exactly as it appears, or should appear, in the DB. If itemid is blank this is the field that will be passed to the search engine. IF we get full wiki integration THIS is the field that will be used to link to the db via the LotRO_Item: namespace.
ItemNameDisplay
Name of the item exactly as you want it displayed, including any quantity and plurality. so you this is a Navy Dye and you have 2 of them ItemName should be "2 Navy Dyes"
quality
The color name from the following list. LotROItem makes use of 1 of 6 css classes to color the bluelink to match the item quality: lotro-q0 (grey) to lotro-q5 (purple). lotro-q1 (Common White) is underlined, since the color is the same as the default text color. All 6 are displayed in Bold text. The color names are, of course, case-insensitive.
itemid=
The ZAM database item id for this item. This has no relation to any internal number used by Turbine. If item_id is blank the item name is instead linked to our site search for the ItemName, colored.
nolink=
Should be used only when you want text to appear in a specific item quality color but are not actually linking a specific item. Useful when you want to colorize the name of a group of items but not create a link because it is not the name of a specific item.

  • lotro-q0: Trash, grey (not really used in LotRO but kept as it is consistent with other game-wikis colorization)
  • lotro-q1: Common, white or blank
  • lotro-q2: Uncommon, yellow
  • lotro-q3: Rare, purple
  • lotro-q4: Incomparable, blue
  • lotro-q5: Epic, Legendary, orange

If quality is not specified, lotro-q1 (Common White) is used.
