Fae Lord Twyl stands at the end of the Winter section of the instance. When you first approach the Fae Lord, he will seemingly run away, vanishing from sight.
After Fae Lord Twyl vanishes, a portal opens to allow through an Avatar of a particular season. First to come is Autumn, then Summer, then Spring. The moment the creature of a season is defeated, the next portal opens granting only a few seconds of downtime between each encounter. The moment the Spring creature is defeated, the Fae Lord will approach and initiate battle with the party.
The first portal opens up on the left to bring forth the Avatar of Autumn (Normal: 7,526 hp), a Satyr. He is a very easy encounter, much like the normal creatures of the realm, however he does have a fear spell that will last a couple seconds. The fear spell rarely seems to hit the tank and will more frequently land on someone at range. Once the Avatar is defeated, the next portal opens.
The second portal opens up on the right to bring forth the Avatar of Summer (Normal: 7,526 hp), a flame elemental. This monster is designed to be easier to defeat because as you destroy him, he breaks into two smaller flame elementals, both called Flash Fire (Normal: 4,342 hp). Each Flash Fire splits into three smaller flame elementals upon defeat called Burning Ember (Normal: 2,172 hp). The Burning Embers are not elite monsters due to the fact that there can be six active at once. Once the Avatar is defeated, the next portal opens.
The third portal opens up in the center to bring forth the Avatar of Spring (Normal: 7,526 hp), a Treant. This monster is as quickly dispatched as the other creatures in the instance. His unique twist, like the other two Avatars is that he summons a swarm of five Vespids named Enraged Nectar Seeker. The Vespids are not elite monsters and can be dealt with accordingly. Keep in mind, however, that the Fae Lord will spawn when the Avatar is defeated, even if the Vespids are still alive. Once the Avatar is defeated, a message appears reading, "Fae Lord Twyl has returned!"
Once the message appears Fae Lord Twyl (Normal: 17,370 hp) will charge towards the group. He does hit hard and typically begins by casting Rift Ability:Arc of Frost. Through the entire fight he will typically continually cast Frozen Fae Bolt, which puts a frost related debuff that lasts three seconds on his target. Be weary of Fae Tempest, a light that randomly travels across the ground, as it strikes fairly hard to whoever is caught standing in it.
