It is worth noting that the Seers (the only known living member of this race) greatly resemble both Risen and Ancestors, leading us to wonder if the Paragons sought immortality via their machines (the Risen being the remains of these experiments) and if the Ancestors are the Ghostly, Risen remains of Paragons?

We learn, eventually, from the Seer of Arkadia that the Progenitor Fey were " a tool to the technological ascension of our future." In other words, the Paragons were attempting to become gods. They created the Fey as a tool to this end and, in so doing, sowed the seeds of their own destruction.
