Players of EverQuest, EverQuest II, Free Realms and Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures will soon have the opportunity to contribute to the Child's Play charity by buying select in-game items. From Dec. 21-31, Sony Online Entertainment will donate $10 to Child's Play for the purchase of each of the following items, up to $50,000:

• Clone Wars Adventures: P3-NUT, a nutcracker-themed Droid pet
• Free Realms: A penguin pet
• EverQuest: the Child’s Play cardboard tube ornamentation, an effect that makes any weapon look like a cardboard tube
• EverQuest II: the cloak of falling snow

Child's Play is a charity that is dedicated to providing children with toys and age-appropriate games at more than 70 hospitals worldwide. Visit the official Child's Play site for more details on how to make a donation.

In case you missed the announcement, the hosts of EQ2 Talk, a biweekly podcast about Everquest II, are currently accepting bids on a pair of Mighty Muggs figures that are customized to look like their EQ2 characters. The money will be donated to Child's Play.

Sony Online Entertainment announced today that Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures is now available for Macintosh users! Mac and PC users can play on the same servers, and their characters can be accessed from either machine since Clone Wars Adventures is a browser-based game.

Mac and PC players who log in soon will experience an in-game holiday event, complete with seasonal decorations. Players can collect Life Day Orbs from around the Jedi Temple for rewards or wear Life Day Robes and collect presents from the Gifting Tree. Clone Trooper nutcrackers, Clone Snowtrooper outfits, Droid garland and many more festive items are also available for purchase in the Marketplace.

Sony Online Entertainment has just announced that Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures is now available through major North American retailers. Players can now go to their local store and pick up a Galactic Passport which includes a 90-day premium Jedi membership, 500 Station Cash, an exclusive Togruta playable character species, a Yoda bobblehead, and more!

Later this month, $10 Station Cash cards will also be going on sale. The cards will contain exclusive virtual items that will be unlocked each time a card is redeemed. There are four items total to collect.

The creators wanted fans to have as much fun with the real-life content as with the digital components of the package. With the holidays around the corner, the pack was released just in time to make the perfet stocking stuffer for any Jedi!

This week's Emissary event will be held in Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures today, Oct. 15, at 3 p.m. PST in the Training Room next to Luminara Unduli. All you need to do is add "Emissary Event" to your friends list and you can teleport to the Training Room when you see the event come online. Don't forget to bring your lightsaber!

A special gathering will be held for Jedi Members following the Emissary event at 4 p.m. PST in the Lightsaber Construction Chamber. While the game is free-to-play, players can purchase a paid subscription to become a Jedi Member and gain access to these exclusive events.

As part of GameBreaker TV's GDC Online coverage, host Gary Gannon had the opportunity to to talk with Nathan Pearce, the director of Skunkworks at Sony Online Entertainment, about numerous topics. Pearce acts as an internal consultant that keeps information flowing between the SOE studios. They talked about all sorts of SOE games, including DC Universe Online, The Agency, Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures, and EverQuest Next. Yes, that's right. EverQuest Next.

Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures launched less than two weeks ago and Sony Online Entertainment is already boasting that one million users have registered to play the browser-based, kid-friendly game. I decided to mark this early milestone by venturing into the Star Wars-themed world to see what it has to offer for young and old players alike. I immediately gravitated toward a mini-game where players use the Force to send Jar Jar Binks flying through the air. Ah, such satisfaction for older fans of the original trilogy!

All joking aside, this online game is, without a doubt, targeted toward younger gamers. Older fans can play Star Wars Galaxies or wait for the launch of Star Wars: The Old Republic, but children should find enjoyment (and even some educational value) in the mini-games of Clone Wars Adventures.

It was only last week we were announcing SOE's launch of their kid-friendly MMORPG, Star Wars: Clone Wars, but Sony has proven themselves to be one of the best in the children's MMORPG market, as this family-safe MMO has just toppled the one million player mark, a mere week after their official launch.

In order to celebrate this significant milestone, SOE and LucasArts will be rewarding all Clone Wars players with a limited edition, in-game Golden Mouse Droid pet, as well as inviting all players to participate in the first ever in-game virtual party. SOE is also planning to host a series of weekly live events, beginning with the celebratory community party today, Sept. 24 at 3 p.m. PDT. There will also be a special gathering for Jedi members, which will be held in the Officers' Club at 4 p.m. PDT.

Sony Online Entertainment has published its newest official podcast this week (it's #94 for those of you keeping track), and this one focuses on Dragon*Con and Star Wars. Fans of Star Wars Galaxies and the new Clone Wars Adventures game may want to give this podcast a listen. In fact, two members of the Clone Wars Adventures dev team stop by to talk about the free-to-play, kid-friendly MMO.

Of course, players of all other Sony Online Entertainment games should get some enjoyment out of the podcast. For example, Jason "Pex" Ryan gives a rundown on the latest updates for SOE titles. The podcast is a little more than 60 minutes long, so relax and enjoy the show!

Sony Online Entertainment, the creative force behind the popular Free Realms kid-friendy MMO, announced today that Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures is now live! Like Free Realms, this Star Wars game is free-to-play, browser-based, and fun for the whole family.

It seems as though SOE has really found their niche in the MMO development industry, as they have just announced the development of yet another kid-oriented MMO, this time centered on Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series on Cartoon Network. With plans to launch this Star Wars themed MMO in the fall, SOE is planning to make "Clone Wars Adventures" the sci-fi equivalent of their already popular Free Realms MMORPG. With this in mind, Clone Wars Adventures will have tons of mini-games (SO MANY TOWER DEFENSE GAMES), an integrated card game based off of the The Clone Wars and, of course, lots of Star Wars related clothing for players to purchase.

So if you've always wanted your kids to get into Star Wars gaming, but didn't want them getting confused by Star Wars: Galaxies (another SOE title, although they don't mention that in the press release) and don't want to wait for BioWare's Star Wars: The Old Republic, maybe you should check out SOE's latest kid-centered MMO!
