DDO to Introduce New Races with Update 7

The halfies are here, the halfies are here! On October 22 (October 20 for your VIPs), Half-elves and Half-orcs will be making their way to DDO stores in Update 7, bringing all of their halfy goodness with them. The two races will be priced at 1195 Turbine points for the Half-elves, while the Half-orcs will run 100 Turbine points higher at 1295 Points. Players will also be able to purchase the "Half-bloods Bundle," for a discounted 1995 Turbine Points, which grants access to both half-orcs and half-elves on any server.

Finally, if you haven't already gotten your champion build (the 32-point builds), then this is a great chance to get it all in one scoop, as Turbine is also putting out a "Half-blood Champions" bundle for players to pick up both the half-orcs, the half-elves and the champion build upgrade -- all for 2995 Turbine points.

With this update will also come a new price increase for DDO's other classes and races, so if you wanted to buy any of the other classes / races before the price spike, you'd better do it now. The new prices will be: 795 points for the Warforged, 895 points for the Favored Soul, 995 points for the Drow and 995 points for the Monk.

New DDO Halloween Live Event Available for Testing

Turbine is planning to give Dungeons & Dragons Online players a sneak peek at a new Halloween-themed live event for characters of all levels on the Lamannia Preview Server tonight, Sept. 30, at 7:30 p.m. EDT. According to the announcement, the two-phase event is unlike anything you've seen before in DDO. The first phase takes place in Delera's graveyard, while the second phase involves a unique boss and instanced gameplay.

If you choose to participate, try to take a screenshot of your character dancing with a DDO developer for a chance to win prizes like signed concept art, a Turbine Fleece Vest, Turbine Points, or Eberron Unlimited launch day mugs!

All the information you need to access the Lamannia server can be found in this thread on the official forums. Remember that the event is being held for testing purposes, so there's a chance things may not go as planned. If you can't make it, you can just wait until the event goes live.

Dungeons and Dragons Online's first 24-Hour Deal

Do you like super deals that only last a moment? If so, then DDO's super special double bonus point offer on their $49.99 point bundle is probably making you drool. From now until tomorrow, Sept. 29, at noon EDT, Turbine is offering double the bonus points (you actually get more bonus points than the points you're buying... that's ridiculous!) on their $49.99 point bundle, translating to a whopping 6,900 point deal.

But remember, you've only got a mere 24 hours to capitalize on this, so if you're still sitting on the fence, you'd better think faster.

Turbine Offers 50% Off Sale, Free Music to Players

Dungeons & Dragons Online went free-to-play a little more than a year ago on Sept. 9, 2009, but Turbine is still celebrating with DDO Anniversary Sale Days. You can enjoy a new 50% off sale in the game's store every day through Sept. 30. Enjoy half-price Greater Hearts of Wood today and cheaper Rest Shrines tomorrow.

Also, Turbine is expandings its collection of downloadable in-game music throughout the month. You can currently download up to 26 tracks as free mp3s! That's even better than the 50% off sale.

DDO Update 6: The Red Fens Releases today!

We have so many reasons to fear things that lurk the deep water. Lets count: Cthulu, Jaws, Godzilla... freaking Grendel's mom, even. The list goes on and on. And in Dungeons & Dragons Online's Update 6, you'll have to muster your courage to fight through the Red Fens, a dark, murky swamp, where bad things come out of the deep water.

The update features a variety of quests: raid a sunken temple to find your captured allies, defend the last Drow village from an onslaught of horrors from the deep swamp and complete a quest that takes place entirely underwater. And let's not forget that treasures beyond imagination still gleam brightly through the swamp's murky waters.

Up to the adventure? The Update releases today, August 19th as a new adventure pack. Go to DDO.com for more.

DDO Health Potions 50% off, Today Only!

Health potions are always useful, but in DDO they're a necessity. This is especially true if you like to brave the dungeons solo. Because they're so valuable, they often come at a high price, costing more than many weapons and armor. But despair not! Thanks be to the D&D gods, Festivult has arrived.

Today only, as in Wednesday July 7th, the DDO Store is celebrating Festivult with carving health potions to half price. You can stock up on these life giving elixirs by the ten, twenty five, fifty or one hundred stack. The cheapest stacks are going for 15 DDO points a stack. Go here to get you some!

DDO Update 5 Releases

DDO's Update 5 has gone live today and guilds have a new reason to forge through the deadliest dungeons. Update 5 brings huge improvements to Guild support, the greatest of which are the new guild airships that function as a guild's home and mode of transportation. Guild members can customize their airship's look and outfit it with amentities like Rest Shrines, Auctioneers and Taverns. Beer in the sky. Sounds great.

Guilds will also earn guild renown that allows them to progress through guild levels. Special guild trophies can be earned from monsters or treasure chests that further the guild's renown. All in all, update 5 gives guilds the ability to craft a more solid identity.

Update 5 also brings the Phiarlan Carnival, a twisted fairground with dark secrets at its heart. Will you attend violent party thrown by high society in the Illusionarium or take the deadliest circus freaks head on in their fiendish games and wild rides?

Update 5 brings advancements to all the classes in the form of new spells, feats and enhancements. New trap parts allow Rogue characters to build their own landmines and explosive grenades.

If you play DDO, now's the best time to grab some friends, board a airship and go adventuring.

Touring with Turbine, DDO's Update 5: Airships!

It's only been a few months since the last time we went on one of our official Dungeons and Dragons Online content tours, but the team has certainly been hard at work since then. It's no secret that Lord of the Rings Online, Turbine's other flagship MMORPG, has chosen to follow DDO's shift to a free-to-play subscription model, and much of the reasoning behind that change can be traced to the stunning popularity of Dungeons and Dragons Online. After all, it isn't every day that one of the most popular subscription-based MMORPGs in the industry decides to transition into a more competitive market (the free-to-play one); unless, of course, you have the perfect trailblazer to follow.

Huge discounts in the DDO store until June 24th

From now until Thursday, June 24th, DDO players will be happy to see that Turbine has put some pretty massive discounts on some of their most popular items.
