The worm gang (and consequently, this particular worm) re-spawned each time between five and six days for me.
Edit: It's now June 2018, and they spawned in three days. It could've been a little less, as I wasn't logged in to catch a spawn. I don't know if the server went down or something while I wasn't on.
I did this solo on my 100 ranger he is NOT uber only has around 5300ac 60k hp using 110/22 1h's and a 240/30 2h etc... i never dropped below 90% health the entire event make sure you have your level 1's camped in here before starting the event to loot when done :-) hope this helps someone
Since I didn't find this info anywhere else I thought I'd post it. The entire fight takes the better part of an hour after you reach the burrower room. Not counting the time it takes you to get from zone in to his room.
The fight consists of 8 waves. Three waves of 12, three waves of 6, one wave of 2, and the final fight. The waves are timed. If you don't kill the preceding wave fast enough, the next wave will spawn. This usually results in a wipe. This is a pure melee brawl, no casters in the lot. Come prepared for a marathon battle.
The first three waves consist of Rock Burrowers, Spiny Rock Burrowers, and Stone Carvers. Of these, only the Rock Burrowers can be mezzed or slowed. We usually use AE tactics on the first 3 waves.
The next three waves are all Core Burrowers. From here on none of the mobs can be mezzed or slowed. Have the raid stand on the ledge by the entrance tunnel. When the 6 worms pop, only 4 of them will be in agro range. Put MT and assisters on one worm and off-tank (or tank mez or whatever you call it) the rest. You will need up to 5 extra tanks so come prepared. Kill the first one as quickly as possible, because the 2 that did not initally agro will jump in as soon as you start pushing the others around with melee attacks and pets. Have MT assist off-tankers and kill the others one by one. Watch your casters and clerics closely during this battle as they can gain agro from adds and won't last long with one of these guys chewing on them.
Wave seven is 2 parasite larva. Same deal with these guys. MT calls one, everyone assist him except for the off tank. Very important to keep both tanks alive as these guys hit hard and fast.
Final battle is the Burrower Parasite. It takes us about 20 minutes to kill this guy. He quads for up to 1100 and flurries. This will eat your tank for lunch so have a good CH rotation and several patch healers. Good Luck.
Some things to note. The event starts when you walk into the room, so prepare outside in the hall. There is a zonewide message when the event starts; something about the ground moving and shaking. If you get wiped the event will depop and reset in a few minutes so you can start over. For this reason, you have to engage the mobs in each wave within a minute or two after they pop, or they will despawn and you will have to start over from the beginning. Once you get the hang of this battle it goes pretty smooth and you can add this beast to your farm list.
Some loot he drops that I haven't see mentioned in other posts: Song: Ervaj's Lost Composition, Spell: Moonfire, Spell: Blessing of Aegolism
Oh, almost forgot to add. I strongly suggest, if you've got the force in The Deep anyway, to run by and drop Thought Horror Overfiend on the way there. our guild has been relatively successfull at getting them spawning at roughly the same times, so we just wipe out the Deep like our own personal toy box when it's up. Seems pretty simple for an "Almost" elemenetal guild to almost have this spawn exclusively to themselves with the competetion for PoP and SSRA mobs.
Quick strat to add here: I can see the AE tactic working, never thought of that actually. What we've done the few times we've done this event is position 4 "Teams" in each of the 4 corners of the room to handle the worms as the shoot down from the wall. Since they come two at a time from each corner, (for a total of 8 spawning at a time) each "Team" tank mezzes / mezzes their two and one Main Tank with the corps of DPS dealers of the raid kinda wanders around from corner to corner picking them off one at a time.
Personal note: All about getting the FT for the casters, but come on, FT 5 robes / tunics and nothing for melee with more than 85 HP? that's just cruel, heh.
