Dungeon Overlord


Rooms are the core of every Overlord's dungeon. They provide the essentials and benefits to make you successful. Each room has a unique purpose, from crafting, to research, to a place for creatures to dwell or train.

Not every room should be used in every single dungeon. With tile limits this will prove impossible. As time goes on and your dungeon empire grows you will begin to find yourself not only choosing dungeons for their mining nodes, but also for the purposes of things such as: mining dungeons, research dungeons, crafting dungeons, raiding dungeons and so on. Many rooms will require certain research technologies and/or other room upgrades in order to be built at all.

All rooms can be upgraded and downgraded. With the exception of the Vault, which always remains in a fixed 3x3 space, these rooms will take up more space as they are upgraded.

  • Upgrading a room will provide extra benefits for each upgrade. Every upgrade will also cost more raw and/or crafted materials and gold and take more time. Depending on the room an upgrade may allow higher tiered furniture to be placed, higher level creatures to be spawned or more powerful resources to be crafted.
  • Downgrading a room will take the room from its current level down to the previous level. Each downgrade will return 20% of the resources spent and take 50% of the time it took to achieve the upgrade that you're stepping down from. Downgrades may make it impossible to place higher tiered furniture or craft better resources.
  • Only one upgrade or downgrade can occur at a time.
  • When an upgrade or downgrade is occuring to a certain room, that room's excess tiles cannot deleted until the upgrade/downgrade is complete.
  • BETA: 1 Experience per hour (100% experience generation rate) is gained for Level 5 rooms. The Vault is the exception: it grants 1 Experience per hour for room levels 2 through 5.
